Most of them are too dull to do any harm, but here goes:

 

I have about 10 butcher knives, of varying blade widths and lengths. I guess you could say I conceal them, because they lay in my kitchen drawer until needed...except the pesky couple that always seem to be dirty in the kitchen sink.

 

Then, I have some steak knives. Now, those are pretty dusty, because I can't remember the last time I cooked some steak at home.

 

Then, I have your plain ol' table kinves. Most of them are in pretty bad shape, because my daughter keeps locking herself in her room by accident, and I have to keep prying her out.

 

So...Now...there you have it!

Bad analogy. Guns aren't required to be registered. Knives fall under the concealed weapons laws. And they didn't publish how many or what kind of guns the owners had, only who had permits for conceal carry.

I'm not secretive or worried, I just am so sick and tired of people today thinking they have to know everything that's going on everywhere. I just don't get what business it is of anyone if I own a gun or have a conceal carry. Honestly, I think the scared and worried people are the chicken littles of this world that have to know who has what and where.

I could go on, the point is none of this is anyone's business for many good reasons. Owning a gun is a Constitutionally protected right, having sex is not, and yet liberal editors pull an end run to "out" lawful gun owners violating every decent sense of respect for a lawful individual's privacy... while at the same time arguing heatedly to protect the "privacy" of individuals infected with HIV/AIDS, essentially allowing them to go about infecting others with a disease ultimately just as deadly as a well placed bullet.

My point was, whether morally or ethically grounded, every one of those examples have to do with protected private information directly linked to legal activities.

 

You answered why we protect some of that information. There are good reasons for keeping all of that information private.

 

The irony/hypocrisy here is that if some agree with the root cause or activity, the information should be kept private. If they disagree, we should "out" its practitioners. The newspaper was playing dirty pool.

 

Why protect AIDS carriers, when their misbehavior could directly result in more infections, resulting in more deaths?

 

Do you honestly believe discrimination is one way? Would you honestly consider the qualifications of two job applicants equally, if you knew one had a concealed carry permit? If so, you're exceptional.
