I would have to agree that Montgomery should go in preseason 1, with Mason, Paris, and Clark right behind. It will be interesting to see how Montgomery County players work under a new head coach. Coach High was the leader of that ship the past 3 years and with a new coach without any Varsity head coaching experience, things could get interesting.

 

Mason County will have the strongest nucleus with Chambers, Cline, and Litzinger, but must fill a major void with the graduation loss of Torey Chambers who I feel was the heart of that team and senior leadership one year ago. Keller Menke must step in and fill a larger role as a sophomore and she is very capable of doing that. She has added some height, quickness and could be a major contributor. Mason also receives a transfer from Ohio who has some talent and skill and will play minutes in the post that is just a sophomore. This girl has a great work ethic and is eager to learn. The key will be some role players( Doyle, possibly a couple of in coming freshmen) and stealing minutes a minute here and a minute there to rest starters. That has to be the focus come preseason.

 

Paris returns everyone and will no doubt be the odds on favorite for the All A regional crown and will be in the mix for the regional crown in March. Paris was a young ball club last year who was very quick and had a nice inside outside game and is always well coached by Coach Brooks. They will be a hard out night in and night out.

 

Clark County will be a young club, but with the likes of a couple of Rogers girls on the squad, they will be a tough out. Gave Mason all they wanted in the regional last year and had a eighth grader on the floor lighting it up from everywhere. Experience prevailed in that particular game against Mason County in the regional tournament.

 

A team that will be fun to watch and with more games played will mature will be Bracken County. A young talented group, this group is young but the past 3 years together, all they have done is win. Should be a fun year and competitive year for girls basketball in the 10th region.

I think the first four are pretty safe bets, but numbers 5-10 is a toss up it's going to come down to coaching expertise, players effort, and who stays away from injuries.

I would definitely agree that coaching will come into play from 10 on down. I think that Campbell County should be ahead of Brossart this coming year. I know that Brossart lost a lot of seniors this past year, and I think Campbell only lost one senior.

If i stand correct Scott beat Campbell last year to make it to region and they only lost spring schneider, and also the team they lost to BB was hit pretty hard to graduation, I don't follow much girls bball, but if all i said is true, wouldn't Scott be ranked ahead of both Campbell and Brossart.

Brossart beat Scott by more than 15 two times last year and yes Brossart lost a lot to graduation, but based on Brossart simply reloading every year, until Scott can beats Brossart on the court this season they stay just out of the top ten for me. I will say Scott does have the players coming back this season to make it exciting in the 37th district and I expect to see some hard fought games.

Thank you, as I stated before i do not follow Girls bball enough to have great input, and was unaware of campbell beating then by 10 during the season, It should be a good year in 37th in both guys and girls bball this year. GO EAGLES.

Welcome! And I agree, The saints will be up in the air, only 1 senior, and have the 2 good sophomores of the Payne sisters. They will make some noise I think.

St. Pat may struggle early in the year, Rutherford leaves some big shoes to fill. I do think that they will improve quite a bit as the season plays out, and could be dangerous, especially with a good draw in the district.

St. Patrick will definitely be a quicker team this year, a more skilled team this year but a much younger bunch that will be thrown into a situation where there is room to grow and for a young bunch, you can only get better. This year will be a year more than likely for this group of girls to gain valuable experience towards competing night in and night out over the next couple of years. New coach, young players, its all about getting better each day. Definitely could scare a team come tournament time, but realistically I believe next year will be a team to be reckoned with. Will be interesting to see who will play the post this season minus Rutherford.

I think most people are forgetting about Bourbon County. I believe they return all 5 starters. If they can find a true point guard, they will be a force to reckon with. Remember they beat Paris last year and nearly knocked off Clark County twice!!

The girls at Montgomery should have no trouble adjusting to the new head coach, as they have played under her as an assistant for several years now.

Well if that's the case, they better hope that these young players that have received little to NO varsity experience adjust well. Only 4 players will return with significant varsity experience. All the rest just received "leftover minutes" at the end of a blowout game. Foul trouble, fatigue and experience will be a major key.
