June 22, 200719 yr http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/racing/06/22/earnhardt.sony.ap/index.html Could be a huge fan turnover for sure now..
June 22, 200719 yr Well, that just spills it. Hendrick is going to take the most popular driver in NASAR and make him in the image of Gordon and Johnson. I'm not feeling good about this at all. See you in 5.

See you in 5. I guess that means he'll actually compete for a championship now, huh? I think it's the best move he could have made.
June 22, 200719 yr If Jr did not think that this move would lessen the headaches AND give him a better chance to win more races, he would not have made this decision. Whats wrong with three of the top drivers (current) being on the same team...? Im sure that they all want to win, but I think you will see Jeff and Jimmy very happy when Jr wins his first race with the new team.
June 22, 200719 yr Does this mean that a Kyle Busch, etc. will drive the #8 Budweiser car in 08'? Who would everyone like to see driving #8 Budweiser next season?
June 22, 200719 yr I believe this is bad information. I had already heard a few days ago that Junior signed a personal endorsement deal with Sony.....not as the primary car sponsor. Also, I think the deal with Adidas is for JR Motorsports. I think I'll wait to here more before I jump to conclusions.
June 22, 200719 yr From Jayski.... Sony and Dale Jr. and more on Adidas UPDATE: Sony will announce Thursday [6/21] that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has signed a personal endorsement contract with the high-end consumer electronics company. Adidas is set to announce another deal with Earnhardt next month. Sony was an easy choice for Earnhardt, an avid online racing gamer who likes high-tech gadgets and computers. He primarily will hawk high-definition products (such as TVs, camcorders, cameras and Blu-ray disc players) for Sony, joining Peyton Manning and Michelle Wie as its high-profile endorsers.(USA Today)(6-21-2007) UPDATE: Sony Electronics announced a personal endorsement deal with #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. of Jr Motorsports to participate in the company's upcoming marketing efforts. The multi-year deal provides Sony the use of Earnhardt's name, likeness, image, voice and endorsement for use in advertising, promotions and merchandising for consumer marketing campaigns aimed at driving sales of Sony Electronics products. Among the products Earnhardt will promote are Sony's high definition BRAVIA televisions in which he will appear in Sony's new HD ad campaign. In addition, Earnhardt will participate in major electronics industry events and trade shows and will make personal appearances each year on behalf of Sony as part of the agreement. Sony Electronics is an active supporter of NASCAR for the past seven years and is the official high-definition TV partner of NASCAR.(Paine PR)(6-22-2007)

Always have to spoil good fun with your inside knowledge!!!!! :D You just hope that he stays with the Bud 8, so you don't have to buy a new wardrobe....

I think they might keep Bud, but the number will probably change. It doesn't matter much really, as long as he's driving the car. :thumb:
June 22, 200719 yr Shew! Yea, it's great that he'll compete for a championship now. He could have all along if he was running DEI.
June 22, 200719 yr The way Truex has been running since the announcement, I wonder if Jr. wasn't holding DEI back ??!!?? :argue:
June 22, 200719 yr The way Truex has been running since the announcement, I wonder if Jr. wasn't holding DEI back ??!!?? :argue: No way was Jr holding DEI back. Truex is a good driver and should have had a good season last year. Truex is getting everything, IMO, now that Jr is leaving. DEI needs to show that they still have something and that they can compete. If not, it's all downhill. I'm guessing that DEI is trying their best to get Kyle Busch.
