Who pitched for Shelby County? Kristin Allen?

I was surprised by this one, Ryle had a 34-6 record I believe and I expected them to continue.

We did not play like our record tonight and all credit goes to the SC pitcher, who kept us looking very bad all night. Congrats to the Rockets. You were the better team for a night and that's all that mattered. Great job, Raiders, this season, and don't beat yourselves up thinking about what went wrong tonight. That kind of unexplainable stuff just happens in sports where Cinderella bites you in the rear end some times. You are an awesome bunch of young men and we stand behind you win or lose!

I agree wholeheartedly about the class and pride that the Ryle Raiders have shown. There is a fabulous group of seniors leaving Ryle (Wags, Hump, Vince, etc...) that no-doubt have left a lasting impression on the underclassmen. Great Job guys. Don't dwell on the loss. There is only one team in the state that win's thier last game each year. The other hundreds lose. I wasn't there, but I suspect you did it with class and sportsmanship. Remember the positives, like the fact that all but 8 schools were done over a week ago...

 

I'm sure your summer ball teams were rooting for you, but they will be happy to have you join the team. I know one of them, and he has been scrambling.

 

Anyway, nice job, the 9th region is proud of you.

Didn't expect this. I thought Ryle would handle it pretty easily based off of their record. Friends at the game said Shelby's pitcher was absolutely awesome. They said he wasn't overpowering but hit spots and knew how to work the batters. Congratulations to Shelby.

"Cinderella danced a great number of dances this year, but sometimes Cinderella comes to the dance but just can't dance, what a great season you Ryle Players have had" How hard you worked,you never gave up. Each one of you will leave Ryle a better man for the team effort. You have learned one of the great secrets of life "Team Work Gets It Done" As a team and as indivudials you have set new school standards for the next Ryle teams to try and reach. As you each go to your different paths of adulthood it will be easier for you You already are winners. I will long remember the great Ryle baseball team of 2007 God Bless.

I concur. We commend the Ryle Raiders on a spectacular season. I was lucky enough to see them earlier in the season at Gallatin County. Congrats to the Raiders, Coach Roesel and his staff on a great season. The Raiders lose a lot of seniors this year, but I'm sure Coach Roesel will have the underclassmen working hard to get back to Lexington. :thumb:

Shelby County sure has turned things around. They were on a major losing streak before entering the district tournament, and had a record of something like 15-13 going into the game with Ryle. I guess there's nothing like a little confidence to get you on a roll.
