Raiders had a chance to break it open in the 3rd but left the bases loaded.

They came back in the 4th and 5th and played Raider baseball, errorless D,

good pitching and smart hitting. Come back at them again tomorrow boys, and take nothing for granted.

Way to go Radiers.... No surprise to me at all........

DD how big was the crowd?

Great job Raiders!!!!:thumb: :thumb:

Like you said, the Reds seats were full by 6:00 and bleachers on both sides filled by game time. Pretty good student crowd from the Raider students for

7.00 tickets. Looked like Somerset had about 100 + fans there. We made room for Mr. Blesser though. LOL

You mean the "BIG O"!!!

Somerset scored their first run on a passed third strike with runners on 2nd and 3rd---that hasn't happened very often and though a run didn't score on an attempted walk off, they didn't handle the situation like they normally do. Othr than that, the defense was stellar. The entire lineup just has a confident look at the plate. They will force Somerset to make plays tomorrow night. Don't have any idea what their #2 pitcher is like. I think Coach Roesel will go with Weiss tomorrow and Hatfield and Hughes on Friday if needed.

Go Raiders.

Wow. I wasn't expecting to come home and find this score. Congrats to the Raiders, and good luck tomorrow.

Way to go Raiders!!! Anything close to a Dinger in the game??

You mean the "BIG O"!!!

Good luck tommorrow Radiers, win this one, so there is no need to play on Friday...

Vince Murray hit a one-hopper off the fence in right center. Ryle forced Somerset to make plays in the 4th and 5th innings, which they did not make, and the Raiders were very aggressive on the paths. Good to get a leg up on the Jumpers.

What is an "attempted walk off?"

I think he is talking about runners on 1st and 3rd and the runner from first starts to walk off the bag to intentionally provoke a rundown to try to allow the runner from third to score.

Oh well........the UT women looked pretty tough in the first game against Arizona. Then Zona came back in the next two........Good Luck Jumpers......Show that Jumper Pride Thursday and get this thing evened up.

Raiders 13 runs on 10 hits, Jumpers 3 runs on 2 hits. Big hits were the triples by Hump and Murray. Every batter in the Raider contributed with at least one hit or a sac.
