May 29, 200719 yr Talk to Donnie Baker, I think he's been trying to sale one for a while . Bob and tom fans will know what I'm talking about.
May 29, 200719 yr My father-in-law has owned a number of boats over the years and he says only a fool would buy a boat. But if you have to buy one, make sure that its one that you can easily put in and take out of the water everytime you use it. You'll save a fortune by not having to gas up at the marina.
May 29, 200719 yr Wait till you start putting gas in that boat!:scared:No kidding. Spent 300.00 on gas this weekend and that was just over half a tank...BOAT is an acronym for Break Out Another Thousand..
May 30, 200719 yr I would love to boat but like stated above heard it can be a bad investment. Awful investment, buy it for the fun of it but go in realizing the investment in time and money. That said, I've had thousands of hours of fun with my family and friends over the years and my kids and I have memories that will last a lifetime.
May 30, 200719 yr Wait till you start putting gas in that boat!:scared: That's a good point. I think we'll not put your boat in this year to save gas money:laugh:

May 30, 200719 yr Author Exactly, you only live once. I have had 2 boats and I am looking at number 3 right now. That's the way I feel! I'm young, have a good job, I'm SINGLE, and I figure that if I am ever going to buy a boat that now is the time!!! My reason for starting this post was to get a little advice to make sure I didn't get burned by buying something that was junk!! :thumb:

When you go to look, take someone with you who really knows boats. They'll be able to see defects that the seller may not point out or worse, try to hide. Decide what you're going to use the boat for and where you're going to use it. That will save you from buying more boat than you need. Heck, we ski off my in-laws Bass Tracker.
