Thats correct my mistake

Congrats Wildcats. Great upset. Birds, its time to pick it up. You've chosen a hard row to hoe, but it can be done. Use this loss to really focus on the next game. Turn a negative into a positive.

I could not agree more. Great job to Grady and the Wildcats!

Well, better to lose now rather than in the regional. Congrats to the W-Cats! 8th grader?? WOW!! Well, ya' gotta beat one of the top tier teams to advance...play like there's no tomorrow. Don't sit near Rawlings...he's "en fuego" !!!

WOW, oh WOW, oh WOW talk about an upset.... Congrats to Newport...WOW..... Has to be the biggest upset of the year in the entire Commonwealth.....

DD can you believe this?

 Wow it was a big upset, but I think you are getting a little carried away with saying it was the biggest upset in the state this year. Highlands is not that good of a baseball team, and are very capable of being beat. They are a very decent baseball team at best this year. So a team beating them would not qualify as the biggest upset in the state...

By the way though congrats on a great win Newport! I know I was sure hoping Ludlow would draw the winner of the district, because Ludlow already had beat Highlands by 10 this year, and Newport is a team they are very capable of beating as well....

Grady has done pretty well at Newport since taking over in 2004. His first year he finished runner up in the district tournament and made a region tourney appearance and now this year despite lack of regular season success they win the district and advance to the region again.

This was a HUGE upset as Newport had only won 5 games up to that point in time and really hadn't played anybody. HHS lost for one reason and one reason only.....HHS took Newport much to lightly and you just can't do that come tourney time. Now do you want to guess how many times Newport would beat HHS if they played nine more games over the next week or so?

I personally want to thank HHS for losing, because now all the top NKy teams, and their players will see that it can happen to them too, if they don't come ready to play......

Future coach has Ludlow played at Champion yet? I am sure that Newport hasn't but not sure about Ludlow. If you haven't play on that field it is a huge disvantage to your team. Yes a baseball field is a baseball field, but the gaps are huge and the backstop is a long way back from home plate....
