I know a few people who have Razrs and they hate them and consistently have problems with them.

I have had my Razr for about 7 months now and I haven't had the first problem out of it! I think that there was a problem with alot of the first ones that came out but they are a great phone to get now. I also had a buddy who had problem after problem with his, but he also failed to mention the number of times that he was fumbling around when he was drunk and dropped it, which IMO was a part of the problem!:thumb:

It might just be my particular style phone but the screen is constantly messing up and I can't even read it half of the time. I've had it replaced but they keep doing the same thing. Also I have repeatedly had friends call me and only their number comes up even when I have them saved into my contacts. It's also not uncommon for me to get random voice mails with no missed calls, and sometimes if they don't leave a message then I won't ever even know they called. One time I checked my voice mail because someone told me they left me one and I never got it and I had 37 voice mails dating back a few weeks. Some of that might be the service but at least the first part is the phone itself. It's just all so frustrating...:irked:

I got a Sony Ericsson W810 and I love it. It has evey bell and whilstle you could possibly imagine. I have 450 songs on it, a 2 megapixel camera, great sound quality, the brightest flashlight I've ever seen, and its pretty durable. Its a tad bit expensive if you don't get some sort of deal with it though.

I think those phones are overpriced for the lack of things they offer. You are mainly paying for the look of the phone, not the performance. But if he likes it that's all that really matters.

I have gone thru three of them. All have been under warranty and were replaced by Cingular.

I've had a Moto Krzr since last year and I love it. MP3 player, touch screen, video, picture, internet, pretty much anything you would want. It's not that big of a phone either and that's always a plus.

I have a Motorolla Razr. I've had nothing but problems from it. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice phone, it has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. I think it try's to do too much though. I have a 2 year contract that is soon to run out so I will also be buying a new phone thank goodness. I'm on my 3rd Razr in 2 years.

 

Whatever phone you get, go with an insurance policy. It's worth the extra cost and actually it isnt much trouble to get a new one when one breaks. I'd also go with the unlimited text messaging, I'm not into it much but it seems that all my friends are, that should save you a lot of money.

I have a PEBL that I use with Cingular/AT&T. The PEBL is not a Cingular phone however, I bought mine off Ebay. I have always gotten great coverage with Cingular here in Paducah (which is about as far west in Kentucky that anyone would really want to visit)
