Won't be the first thread to get off topic. I don't really think that it that far off topic, the title is "big hitters of the 16th". The title of the thread itself doesn't specify a year. The ones we were discussing were in the 16th region then as the ones others have mentioned are now.

 

By the way, if you are getting specific it wasn't 30 years ago.......it was 33 - 34 years ago (LOL):walk: and some others mentioned were 25 years ago. :sssh:

I dont see how Suitor is big time hitter for Russell, last time I checked he was batting in the 8 spot. Not that I dont think he is a good offensive player but one would think the "big time" hitter would not be batting that low in the lineup. IMO.

Suiter was only batting in the nine spot because he was in some what of a slump for a few games. He holds the highest batting average on the team at 427 before the district game. He was 14-17 (.824) with three doubles, three triples, 10 RBI, and 8 stolen bases in the last seven games.

Zac Wilson for Boyd Co. has to be high up there, too...he has either the first or second highest average on the team...

I think Bowling for Boyd has to be in there, he's just a headache for the opposing pitcher.

Tommy Dearfield of East Carter is hitting over 200 points higher than anyone else on his team. As of yesterday he was hitting .614, he is 54 for 88 with 16 doubles and 42 RBI's. That is an amazing average, and considering the differential from the rest of the team, it seems like the statistician would be legit.

I think Bowling for Boyd has to be in there, he's just a headache for the opposing pitcher.
