ESPN.com experts: Best positioned for future (college basketball)

Featured Replies

UK is the best basketball program in the land...Hopefully they can take some criticism every once in a while without crying, "Andy Katz has a personal vendetta against us."

It's hard not to see it as something personal when the rest of your colleagues agree that UK is no worse than #4 on that list but you leave them off completely. It doesn't really bother me that much but it just makes me very curious as to why he feels the way he does about UK.

So, do you guys think Bilas has a personal vendetta against UofL?

So, do you guys think Bilas has a personal vendetta against UofL?

No, because he wasn't the only one who left UL off his list. As I said earlier, I think UL is in good shape for the immediate future, but the distant future is cloudy. They definitely deserve to be on the list, though.

So, do you guys think Bilas has a personal vendetta against UofL?

No, IMO there is a big difference in leaving a team completely off the list who the other experts listed at #1, #2, #2 & #4. UL on the other hand was #4, #9, #9, and not listed.

Why does everything have to evolve into a UK vs. UL thread.

This is my point. There are only 10 spots. There are 10 schools on Andy Katz' list that have pretty bright futures, and Kentucky has a coach that has never been past the Sweet 16. I think it's possible to disagree with Katz' list without saying he must have some vendetta.

And I love it how somebody is always out to get UK...First it's Vitale, and now Katz...Who will be next?

I love how in every single thread where there is a little UK love, a couple of particular people feel like it's necessary to come in the thread and start bashing the Cats/Cat fans. Why not join in on the topic at hand instead of pointing out how stupid UK fans are? Haven't we talked about this enough?

UofL is not on a lot of lists because the odds are that Pitino doesn't stay more than 5 or 6 years; and trying to replace him will bring in an inferior coach with lesser coaching/recruiting skills as RP almost certainly.

Do you all have a personal vendetta against UK fans? Can't we drop this stupid argument it's OLD!

I could agree with you if this was the only example, but it's not. Rarely will he ever say anything positive about UK.

Joe Lunardi knows what he's talking about.

Kentucky was 1,2,2,4 and unranked by Katz. I honestly don't think Katz has that much against UK. He may not like the UK program but he doesnt dislike Kentucky enough to not put them on a list out of hatred. Thats childish and as much as I dislike Katz I'm willing to give him more credit than that. Maybe he just really doesnt think Kentucky has a promising future. It's his job to analyze sports, let the guy do his job. Besides, who cares what one "expert" thinks. 4 out of 5 think the future at UK looks pretty bright. Who cares what Katz has to say ? It's his opinion guys, nothing set in stone...
