NFL to add a 17th game???

Featured Replies

Actually, it's a 5 hour difference. Berlin and Paris would be a 6 hour difference.

So you would never live in Hawaii where the 1 PM Sunday games come on at 7 or 8 AM??

Starters don't play too much in the pre-season anyways...

If they have to be there for 4 pre-season and 17 regular season games you can bet any current contracts would be adjusted.

I'd like to see each team only play 3 pre-season games and 17 regular season games.

That's one less game every other year for season ticket holders to pay for.

(Actually what most teams would do is raise prices per ticket every other year and you would still be paying the same overall amount but for 10 games one year 9 the next.)

I can't make myself like it. 8 Home games, 8 away games...it's perfect.

Nope. :D

I don't like the idea but I'd take one more regular season game over one less preseason....errrr....exhibition game. Plus it puts me out another $20 in fantasy money.

As long as I get my 8 home games, I have no problem with them adding an overseas game.

4 1/2 months of 1 game a week in the regular season is too long? The NCAA hoops season is just as long. MLB is longer. NBA is longer. NHL is longer. Golf is longer. Tennis is longer. Nascar is longer. Weak argument...

Not really for me. I don't watch te NBA faithfully, never watch NHL, golf or tennis. :D . The only one of the ones you brought up that I am really a fan of are NCAA hoops (all NCAA really) and MLB. Imo MLB could be shorter and they could play NCAA all year round as far as I am concerned. ;) So, out of the ones mentioned I coud live with a shorter MLB season as well and would like to see more of all NCAA sports on.

JMO but 5 of the 7 you mentioned are weak arguments. :D

:irked: :p :jump:

Most of the players in the league already complain about the long season with pre season. I don't know if this will fly with them.

I am torn on this one. I love pro football and would not mind seeing additional football, but the traditionalist in me would have to view seasonal records and career marks differently.
