May 9, 200719 yr I thought that it would be good to have a thread where we could keep fishing fanatics up to date on what some of us are finding as productive (or not) on our local lakes. I'll start by saying that Yatesville lake currently is as good as it gets . I will be there Friday morning Lord willing. My sources say they have been wearing them out on trick worms, Senko's, and another friend said he caught his limit in just over an hour on medium running Bandit crankbait in firetiger color.
May 9, 200719 yr I need information on Kentucky Lake. I am leaving for the lake on the 23rd. I am wondering what is biting down there right now if anything. Thanks.

May 10, 200719 yr Cumberland fishing has been reported good to great. No tourist yet and a lot less fishing pressure due to low water levels. Trick is finding a ramp to get your boat in.
May 10, 200719 yr Ohio River - Greenup Pool: Reports are the fish are off the beds, still in the creeks as of this past weekend. Caught 7 keepers and a few more non keepers shallow on a spinnerbait and topwater, mostly on spinnerbait. I am sure some can be caught on a worm. The week preceeding this they were on the beds and were being caught on small plastice lizards, senko type baits.
May 10, 200719 yr I also talked to a very good friend whom I trust his info and the bass at Yastesville are also off the beds, he had some sucsess and found the fish suspended in the standing timber.

May 12, 200719 yr Author Well, we fished Friday morning at Yatesville under bluebird skies, only caught fish on the shady side, and didn't fish terribly deep water. Caught 20ish but not one kept. Several 13/14, none over that. Had a great time, and my midget boated a nice one on a paddle tail worm. It got major hot (temperature, not fish) by 11:00. Most of the fish we caught were on trick worm or fluke. Most disappointing part was losing a bag of jerky on a run from one spot to another and the little man was mad at me for "running too fast".
May 12, 200719 yr I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine. I knew that I should have went with him today . He had around 12 largemouth, 6 that would keep, 4 sauger and about a dozen crappie with 4 of those over 15"! All fish except for one of the crappie on a spinnerbait. That is a heck of a day on the river (Ohio River-Greenup pool). Last year was as good of bass fishing as I have seen for years on this stretch of the river in a long time and it appears that this one will be the same or better!

He would have doubled those numbers if he used a Wiggle Wart in that special color.
