From your earlier post I am assuming you are referring to Coach Hampton when you say "the best guy for the job"........It is my understanding the job was offfered to and accepted by Coach Hampton then he had a change of heart shortly thereafter. If this is correct then what did the community have to do with keeping the administration from hiring the best guy?

Why is Coach Leach the former KCU coach? What has he done since leaving KCU?

I wonder if Coach Sutton, and Coach Smith will continue to work with the program? IMO last seaon they were thrown to the Lions I know that Coach Sutton who was named interim is an outstanding coach and and Greenup Co. should feel very fortunate to have his services. He played his heart out for Greenup Co., and he coaches with the same passion. He loves Greenup Co. and I would think the "community" would want to keep him around.

Which "community" would that be though? There are a few different communities that make up the GCHS district and the conflict between them has always been a problem with that school system.

Explain this more in detail. Did the "higher ups" get in Baker's way? Bottom line it is his decision to make?

I have heard there is a Buddy Garrity-type in Greenup County. You know the car salesman in the show Friday Night Lights that has deep pockets and has his paws on the program of the Dillon Panthers.

I had heard he is the guy that runs the Ice dispensing company down there and has made life miserable for the administration at GC. Supposedly he told the powers at the school he would oppose any coach they hire, because of what has transpired.

Seriously, this guy needs to CHILL, or at least FREEZE IT.

The guy you are talking about doesn't have nearly that much power. The problem is that there too many people who feel that they control the school system and it is a constant state of chaos that results from this. There are still dividing lines between the communities that make up this school. It is a mess not caused by one person, but by number of individuals.

Voicing his opinion and essentially railroading the AD office at GC.

I tend to agree with FBALL that the administration must shoulder much of the blame for this fiasco.

 

It sounds like Coach Hicks did not play politics with the right people in the Greenup administration and he got shoved out on some trumped up charges. I think the fact that Hicks has retained David Welch as his attorney speaks volumes for the validity of Hicks' suit.

 

We don't know how this litigation will turn out, but don't be surprised if Hicks is vindicated.
