May 7, 200719 yr He had a pretty good supporting cast with Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell and had the best record in the western conference. Those guys are all about "me" type players. I'd much rather have guys like Josh Howard, Jason Terry, and Jerry Stackhouse than those two. The T-Wolves didn't have much depth that year either...plus as we all know you can't expect to win with Rasho Nestarovic....

That's plenty enough IMO at least to make it out of round 1. Just seems to me like KG doesn't make the people around him better. Oh, Chauncey Billups and Terrell Brandon as well. :lol:

Wally was/is a clubhouse cancer from everything I've read. Terrell Brandon pretty much fell off the face of the earth after leaving Minnesota.

They lost 7 straight times in the 1st round before finally making it to the WC finals and being eliminated there.

Seems like except for Spree and Cassell, he was a young guy right out of high school and wasnt really a contributor yet.

Billups wasn't the player in Minnesota he is in Detroit. ME-bury doesn't win anywhere... ...and, Gugliotta, Szerbiack, and Brandon... If I were Dallas, I'd pull the trigger on this deal in a heartbeat. Garnett was, is and always will be better than Dirk.
May 9, 200719 yr The main reason the Mav's lost IMO Nellie taught Dirk and Coach Johnson all they know just not everything he knows. Basketball is a team game the Mavs were outcoached and outplayed.
