April 30, 200719 yr Who said they watched him more than the staff? I said as a UM fan I watched almost all of his games and don't think he's going to be a top flight CB in this defense. It's a message board where we discuss things like this. Give me a break!!! Any of us seconde guessing professionals who watch 1000's of hours of tape in addition to seeing these players work out in person multiple times is absolutely ridiculous, message board or not. Marvin and staff have forgotten more football than all of us put together X 10!

Marvin and staff have forgotten more football than all of us put together X 10! He's just telling us his opinion after seeing a lot of his performance on the field. There is no need to act like the experts have never been wrong before. Disagreeing with him is fine but at least provide a counter-point.
April 30, 200719 yr Author Any of us seconde guessing professionals who watch 1000's of hours of tape in addition to seeing these players work out in person multiple times is absolutely ridiculous, message board or not. Marvin and staff have forgotten more football than all of us put together X 10! And yet they still make mistakes. Such is life. We are here to discuss it. I watch more games and analyze players more than, I would guess, anyone on this board. Does that make me smarter than everyone here? No. I gave my opinion of the player after watching his entire career. I hope he comes in and has a fantastic career. As a Michigan fan it would help ease the sting of Chris Perry. You always go back to the "coaches know more than you" argument. I think we all get that. They do. It's their all day every day job. It doesn't make them right all the time, and it doesn't limit opinions on message boards. I never blasted the staff or their evaluation of the player. I gave my opinion. You gave yours. Except it's one we hear all the time. I know how you feel about defending this staff. I get it...

Marvin and staff have forgotten more football than all of us put together X 10! Seriously why did you join this site, if you really have no opinion on anything! No duh that they know more football than any of us, but part of being a fan is second guessing people and thinking about what you think they should have done. And you know what sometimes our opinions end up being right and the coaches get it wrong. But that is what this is for, is for people to talk and discuss stuff and give their opinion. While you only seem to want to get on here, and not give an opinion, but just to argue with people who might have a opinion that is not the same as the coaches. You have done this all year now when it comes to the Bengals. You act like we dont know that the coaches look at the tape, and are their for a reason. Which is just rediculous because just like all year in the stuff you been arguing about, we already know all this stuff that you say, because it is COMMON SENSE. If there was not going to be people who give opinions on stuff, then there would be no bluegrasspreps, because this whole place is peoples opinions on things usually, and like it or not some of those opinions will come on what the Bengals do...

Hardly accurate; we are going to discuss what we have almost no evidence to support other than what we see on TV, read in magazines, and hear from Mel Kiper (at least he has seen film)??????? That makes no sense. BGP will be just fine on other topics of which the posters have some knowledge- like what they have really seen- games, practices, behind the scenes rumors, whatever. Of course the Bengals and other NFL teams have been wrong, but even if a poster happened to predict something accurately, it certainly was not from 1st hand knowledge-it was happenstance. Discussing topics (drafted players who you have not watched film on) of which we have no knowledge is preposterous, no matter how much you want to justify it. But keep on acting like you know more than the professional coaches -it does make for fun reading.

I mean your post are so funny, especially the ones like this when you try to say stuff that none of us have ever said. Never once have I claimed to know more than professional coaches, yet you for some reason say that we do think we know more. What all of us on here have done was give our OPINION on the subject, and try to back it up. Does it mean we are right not at all, but it is our OPINION. And having a opinion on something is pretty nice, and you really should try it sometime. Because we all know your one and only opinion you have on anything, and that is that nobody should have an opinion on the bengals coaching and what they do. Its really old now, you been going on about this like all offseason, and once again what you say is just common sense, because we ALL know this stuff that you say already. There is no reason to say it. I think GT said it best about you in his post when he said "we get it", we know you dont like people having OPINIONS on coaches and what they do, because that is the ONLY opinion you have ever seemed to really have on here...

May 1, 200719 yr I don't like the pick...I think there were better CB's available, or they could have gone with another position. That's just my opinion...I hope Hall turns out to be a stud.
May 1, 200719 yr Funny how one more underperforming season and the "In Marvin We Trust" comments have diminished compared to last off season.
