Have received word that UK visited with Rose Hill Crhistian's Dakota Euton and Chad Jackson. Both will be sophomores next year. Euton may be further along, but some project that Jackson may be the one with the most upside.

Not sure which coach was in Ashland, but one of the staff was there.

I know UC has been interested in both for a little while now...

Indiana was in as well.

Euton is about 6'8 and can shoot the ball. Jackson is about 6'4 or around that, and he is extremely athletic. These two have a lot of potential.

I don't know how much more the Euton kid will grow, but knowing the way college coaches recruit potential I find it hard to believe some would say Jackson has more upside.

 

Is Jackson really 6'4"?

 

Anyway, congrats to both of these kids. I hope they can both play at UK, and at the level UK fans expect of a Wildcat. But I'm sure they'll be successful reagardless of what college they choose.

It is great to see the kids from this area get some attention from a top notch program. Let's not pressure them to much and just let them enjoy their high school career. If they work hard in the classroom & on the floor, their talent will shine through and the cream will rise to the top.

He's a freshman also and the last time I looked he was rated higher than both Jackson and Euton. I'll remember his name here in a minute, or I'll look it up.

I totally agree. Rose Hill has been a yearly opponent of ours down here in Augusta and their attitude (players, fans and parents) has taken a virtual 360 degree turn for the best. Euton and Jackson have a really bright future. You can't help but to think of Kyle Singler when you see Euton play.

:thumb: They absolutely did! I just hope that these two fine young men don't get mixed up with any ................lets just say "Less than honorable" AAU coaches, leeches is a better word. Imo it is just too easy for a h.s. kid to be impressionable and get lost in all the hype. I don't think that they will, I don't know them but I have heard VERY good things about them and their parents. :thumb:

Just a general comment.

 

I know it is the nature of the game and Gillispie is doing what you have to do and is well within the rules, but something has never settled well with me recruiting kids at such a young age. I wish something could delay the whole recruitment process until their second semester, Junior year.

 

I realize with the nature of AAU ball and such it will not happen, but I just hate seeing KIDS (13-14 years old or so) caught up in all of this at such a young age when they should be playing with friends, hanging out, etc.
