UK visits with Rose Hill Christian's Euton and Jackson

Featured Replies

I saw them both play one game this year and both are very good right now. Good attitudes also.

Great kids and players. I have seen Dakota grow up through the years and with his parents we will not see another OJ/Billy Walker situation; Clay and Pam are class people and will make sure that Dakota stays grounded and also gets to enjoy his high school career.

I don't know how much more the Euton kid will grow, but knowing the way college coaches recruit potential I find it hard to believe some would say Jackson has more upside.

Jackson does have more of an upside. He is more athletic and has much more of an all around game than Euton.

I totally agree. Rose Hill has been a yearly opponent of ours down here in Augusta and their attitude (players, fans and parents) has taken a virtual 360 degree turn for the best. Euton and Jackson have a really bright future. You can't help but to think of Kyle Singler when you see Euton play.

IMO if he compares at all to Singler, he could become one of the best in the state by next year. Kyle Singler is the real deal.

He is my take on these two fine young men. They are completely different types of players who compliment each other perfectly. Euton is a pure shooter(virtually unlimited range) who is extremely fundamentally sound in most all phases of the game. With his size(6'8") he is learning to post up inside and get to the foul line. He is a strong leader on the floor with loads of poise and confidence with a super attitude. Jackson has become a superb ball handler who is extremely explosive off the dribble(IMO as explosive off the dribble as OJ at the same age). He is a slasher to the basket and a leaper who is just now finding out how to best use his athleticism(he is now in the 6'3" to 6'4" range and should get to at least 6'6") . His shooting has improved in the last 12 months but has a ways to go at this time. Once again, he also plays with an excellent attitude.

The upside for both players appears to be unlimited at this time. It will be fun to watch them grow as athletes and individuals.

^You can't coach size...and in my opinion you are either a shooter or you aren't. Euton has both to his advantage right now, and having just one is hard to "up", but having both makes you lethal.

That's why I say it would be hard for anyone, not just Jackson, to have more of an upside.

I didn't realize Euton's older brother played for UC Associate Head Coach Larry Davis at Furman...

Side note...Any of you guys seen the kid from Poca, WV play?

He's a freshman also and the last time I looked he was rated higher than both Jackson and Euton. I'll remember his name here in a minute, or I'll look it up.:D

Saw him play three times this year, I have seen better in his class.

Yeah, his brother Darrell was quite a player too. If Dakota gets to where he can jump like Darrell he will be just plain nasty.

Do you remember the kid's name?

It's killing me and I can't find it anywhere.
