Its starting to look like Hicks was standing up for what was right. I think the administration pushed the wrong person and he has pushed back. Alot of times people just live with the results good or bad. This one may have backfired against the school system. I have known Jim long enough to tell you this. If he is wrong he will admit it and swallow his pride. If he is right he will let you know it. This is something he truly believes was wronged against him and his program.

Do you know if Hicks has landed a new coaching job yet, or if he is still waiting. I guess if this works out in his favor he will have enough money to retire and come watch Scott County play!

I believe this will cause people to take a closer look into what is going on there and get to the bottom of things. This whole situation seems unprofessional and sad for the students. I would guess both sides arent exactly in the right. This has basically given a black eye to everyone involved.

Hicks has done a great job of staying in the spotlight even after being fired. I don't know what happened with the allegations of civil rights violations, but I do know Hicks was an embarassment to the GC schools from the time he started there. His sideline antics and poor sportsmanship overshadowed anything the kids did on the court and that is not the job of a head coach. As for how much he cares about kids, I know of a family who would agree that he cares...but only as long as the kid can do something for him. Once the kid's usefulness to the basketball team is done, so is Coach Hicks' interest in them...at least according to one family who has earned my trust as a reliable source. Personally, I think this is more about Hicks wanting to be in the spotlight than it is about his desire to "do the right thing."

I am trying to think of another Coach who threatened fans (both his own and opposing team's) during and after a game and no others are coming to mind. Oh wait one other, but he uses the phone. :fire:

If they keep waiting they are going to be in the same boat that they were in when hiring an interim coach, Coach Sutton and Coach Smith will be only candidates left, which BTW would be two good options.

Hicks was a joke on the sidelines. Greenup will be better off without his antics and constant distractions. The man never agreed with one call that went against his team the whole time he was there...and he showed his disagreement in the most disrespectful manner possible. I don't know him in his private life, but his example to his players in public was to throw the biggest possible fit every time something did not go his way.
