Old School Dr. Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I heard that Ryan Whitaker signed with LMU either yesterday or today. If this is true they got a heck of an all around basketball player that will bring some Kentucky fans with him to the Tennessee school. Good job LMU and I hope Ryan has a great career over there. Can anyone confirm this signing?

Log Mountain Boy Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 This is great! I have known Ryan for a really long time, since he was a little boy. Hes a great kid and a great basketball player. He flat out deserved this with as hard as he has worked. I am thrilled for Ryan!
Bubba Wilson Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Congrats to Mr. Whitaker. Best of luck on a great college career.
nomorenoles Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Cograts to the Whitaker family he is a great player and his dad and brother have made the 13th very intersesting the last couple of years.
bellalumni40 Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Congrats to Ryan. He definitely deserved it. It's also great that he gets to stay in the area so many people can watch him. LMU doesnt get a lot of local talent like they should.
gold sunrise Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Congrats to Ryan Whitaker . LMU is a great university, my son graduated from there.
$$East-Bank$$ Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Don't know alot about LMU but they got a descent player in Whitaker, I always thought he was underrated as a player in HS because he was better than most the players rated above him in the ratings. He'll make a good guard at the college level especially when they get him in the weight room, he'll be even more athletic and strong. Congrats.
HDE Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Don't know alot about LMU but they got a descent player in Whitaker, I always thought he was underrated as a player in HS because he was better than most the players rated above him in the ratings. Was that too low?
Bubba Wilson Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I think he was rated third or fourth in the region. Was that too low? He may have been the third best player in the region behind Crawford and Proffit. We will see where they all land and then criticize HDE rankings....lol
NEERFAN Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Congrats, I love the nickname of Rail Splitters, my father played a year down in Harrogate.
$$East-Bank$$ Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I think he was rated third or fourth in the region. Was that too low? I thought he was rated 6th or 7th.
HDE Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Proffitt, Hammonds, Smith, Whitaker and Crawford were the top five in the Cats' Pause.
Log Mountain Boy Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Proffitt, Hammonds, Smith, Whitaker and Crawford were the top five in the Cats' Pause. I would much rather have Whitaker than Hammonds. I think this past year would be a toss up with Whitaker and Crawford, with Crawford having more potential. Proffit I believe is better and I have not seen Smith play.
