LSURock
I read this recently. The kid never seemed to live up to his potential but I know that Cat fans were hoping that he would step up in his senior year and make an impact. Seems like it won't happen now due to violation of team rules. Is it me or does UK have a lot of suspensions?
Fletch
It's you. They have suspensions because the coaching staff has and enforces the rules. Les Miles would do well to take a few notes, instead of ridiculous one quarter or one half suspensions. That reeked of character didn't it? You don't know what the rule violated was. Was it serious? Or was it something to do about not going to class or study sessions?

The last time I checked the U in UK stood for university (thats some sort of school I think).
Fletch
Brooks should have just suspended Logan for a half or a quarter I guess.

RockPride
It's you. HAHAHAHAHA They have a ton of KY kids fall through...there has to be a breakdown in the transistion from high school to college....that is the staff's fault, no matter how you slice it. Fletch
Is it me or does UK have a lot of suspensions? I think I'd rather have players, or even coaches for that matter, on my team suspended than arrested. Assistant LSU strength and conditioning coach Travelle Gaines has been arrested LSU Police for for violation of sports agent laws. In addition to being a violation of NCAA regulations, violating sports agent laws in Louisiana is a felony charge. LSU football coach Les Miles has suspended DL Chase Pittman indefinitely following his arrest for assault earlier this week. Shawn Jordan, a 5-foot-11, 232-pound sophomore backup at LSU, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and allegedly attempting to transport anabolic steroids into his hometown of El Paso, from Juarez, Mexico, on Tuesday afternoon. LSUPD arrested three students - including LSU football player Alfred Jones - Saturday for fighting during a basketball tournament at the University Recreation Center. Lafayette police arrested LSU football player Early Doucet during the morning hours of Jan. 9 after he refused to leave a bar. Doucet was involved in an altercation that began after a security guard forced his friend to leave the bar Nite Town. Doucet stood in the exit door, refusing to move. Bar management called police. Fletch
there has to be a breakdown in the transistion from high school to college..... You have hit half the nail on the head. That's true of non-football players also, unfortunately.

I agree that the staff has to do a better job of recruiting kids with better character, and kids who want to be students first, but surely you're not blaming the actions of these kids on the coaching staff. These athletes are supposed to be young men, and have no one to blame but themselves for getting into trouble, or missing classes.

MountainThunder
I am impressed with the fact that Brooks and his staff are willing to not overlook violations and deal with them head on.
RockPride
But surely you're not blaming the actions of these kids on the coaching staff. Not directly, but indirectly, yes....they are having issues with getting kids with character, etc....something's gotta give.
