He told him that if he wanted recommendation for a head job somewhere he would have to look somewhere else.That's garbage. Rick went to bat for Willard for the Delaware job, and when they pulled it out from under him (despite already knowing about the DUI) Pitino went off on them. Meanwhile, Pitino used strong verbiage directed at Delaware for the way they he claims Willard was treated. Pitino said Willard was up front with the committee and told them that he had made a poor decision two years ago when he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. Willard failed two sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of .146, police said. Kentucky's legal limit for DUI is .08. He said he had never done that, hadn't since and wouldn't again. "They were all impressed with his honesty off the first question asked,'' Pitino said during the news conference in Louisville after the Cardinals' second-round NIT win Monday night. "He had a great interview. They called me up and said he blew them away and I said 'I told you' and then he was offered the job, came back when he was offered the job, wanted a day to think about it and talked it over with his wife. This morning [Tuesday] he got the contract, emailed the contract, letter of agreement basically. "He was all excited. He'd decided to take it and have a press conference on Thursday," Pitino said. "An hour later, the president told the board who he was hiring and had a few emails and complaints about the DUI and they pulled the contract and everything from Kevin Willard. Pitino went on to say that he hoped the committee members can look at themselves in the mirror and "don't live in any glass houses." "They just missed out on one of the finest basketball coaches I've witnessed in my life but more important than that, they missed the opportunity be around one of the finest people I've encountered in my life and that's the great disservice that they did to themselves,'' Pitino said. "For me and the University of Louisville, we're the lucky ones, we get to keep him." Willard had a chance to get the Eastern Kentucky job a year ago but declined. Willard is the son of Holy Cross coach Ralph Willard. "You have to understand this is a young man, outside of that one incident, has done everything right in his life,'' Pitino said. "This is very unforgiving. "Anybody that gets behind the wheel of an automobile [after drinking], he's dead wrong. But this isn't a person who has a drinking problem. This isn't a person that does things wrong. This is a young man, I wouldn't say he's angelic, but he's close to it."

From what I understand (and I actualy have sources from WVU and Morgantown) Im on a few boards with WV athletics that they want Beileins system left in place and he is the number one canidate but nobody really knows right now. Huggins has been mentioned but from what I told its not going to happen. How about Jirsa haha.
