The O's are ready to can Sam Perlazzo as manager. Guess who's on their short list? Joe Girardi. They've even brought in former Cubs president Andy MacPhail as their new C.O.O. in an attempt to further woo Girardi to Baltimore. If this happens, and I haven't read on here any Reds fan that wouldn't want Girardi managing in Cincy, will the Reds "plan" have cost them one of the best young managers because they held on to Narron??

 

I also think Davey Johnson is Plan B in Baltimore

It started with poor location on the whiffle ball curve. Hang that bad boy and watch it fly the other way. My guess is that he's been using more fastballs to make up for the curve problems and it's lead to a tired arm. I also think the May schedule had more to do with this than the 129 pitch start. There was only 1 off day in over a month, so there was no extra rest built in. Might as well let him skip the off day and get the 10 day rest to see if the problem corrects itself...

10 day rest and All Star break might just be what he needs. Speaking of riding tired horses, what did you think about Ross playing yesterday? IMO it was a spot where the every day catcher gets a day off.

I've said I'm fine with the Girardi mid season plan if they did it like the O's are doing now. Bring him in. Line everything up and have a deal done before you fire Narron. If you want to change mid season, fine. But you had better do so with a direct and clear plan for a replacement. I hate the interim manager route...

I really don't think Narron is in trouble. He would have been gone by now if there was going to be a change. What I fear is that the team comes around some in Aug and or Sept and Jerry keeps the job in the offseason. I can really see that happening.

Maybe Bronson needs a new catcher:D Usually in the heat of the summer a C will get the day game off after 2 straight night games plus add in long distance trip. 0 fer and an error! I know hindsight is 20/20 but I brought up this point before the game yesterday.

If Girardi couldn't work for his boss in Florida, what makes you guys think he can come in and manage the worse team in the NL and work for this owner without having issues with Castellini?
