May 15, 200719 yr Deadlegs Freel 3b Phillips 2b Griffey rf Conine 1b Dunn lf Gonzalez ss Hamilton cf Moeller c Harang p I don't know why, but I am predicting a win for the Reds tonight. I think they are due to win 1 out on the coast. I also think they may win 1 in Cleveland. Thats about as good as its gonna get with this squad. Also watch Harang tonight. There has been some talk of his back still bothering him.
May 15, 200719 yr We shoud see some runs scored tonight lets hope we can be on the higher end of that.
May 15, 200719 yr Does anyone know the song from "The Bad News Bears" (original) that was played when the Bears were getting crushed? It would be great if we could get a link and play when the Reds are screwing up. If you can't tell, I'm pretty easily amused:D
May 16, 200719 yr Does anyone know the song from "The Bad News Bears" (original) that was played when the Bears were getting crushed? It would be great if we could get a link and play when the Reds are screwing up. If you can't tell, I'm pretty easily amused:D I made the video JUST FOR YOU. Just thrown together using former and current Reds players. Didn't really want to try and capture video, it wasn't THAT important pictures are just fine. But we can all enjoy this song when things start to go bad....AGAIN  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0nmM5Z2muA
May 16, 200719 yr Author Great point from C Trent... OK, here's something i've been thinking about. I honestly believe last year's team wasn't as good as its record (80-82) and I don't think this year's team is as bad as its record (15-24). So, the only way I can think of to back that up with numbers is to look at the Pythagorean records. Now, I'm not huge on the Pythagorean records, but I do think it's a decent way to look at things. Last year's team had a Pythagorean record of 76-86 -- which means they were, in reality, four games better than what they should have theoretically been. This year's squad's Pythagorean record is 19-20 -- which means they were, in reality, four games worse than what they should have theoretically been. If those four games squng the way they "should" -- would htere be as much panic over a 19-20 record? Just a thought.
May 16, 200719 yr Harang got through the 1st without giving up any runs!! :dancingpa Yep, we have to celebrate all accomplishments, no matter how small they may be.
May 16, 200719 yr I wish Dunn would've just struck out... I was thinking the same thing. lol I liked it better when Dunn didn't make contact when making an out.
May 16, 200719 yr Author I really wish I was wrong about trading Cameron for Junior all those years ago...
May 16, 200719 yr On a sidenote, I am now firmly of the opinion that we may have had the opportunity to have witnessed one of the greatest baseball players of our generation in Greg Maddux. His pitching numbers speak for themselves. He may scare 400 wins before he quits at his rate. But no one in my lifetime has fielded the pitchers position like him. No one! He is basically another infielder. He must be a joy to catch. He hits spots like no one I've ever seen. Offensively, he's a threat with the bat, because he worked on it. And can anyone remember the last time he was unable to move a runner via sacrifice. Am I a Greg Maddux fan? Well, I hate the way he's owned my Reds over the seasons, but to deny just how special a player he really is would be denying any true knowledge of the game. Kudos Mr. Maddux!:thumb: Certainly one of the best pitchers of any generation!
May 16, 200719 yr I really wish I was wrong about trading Cameron for Junior all those years ago... Has Cameron really had that much more success than Junior over the past 7 years?
May 16, 200719 yr I really wish I was wrong about trading Cameron for Junior all those years ago... Even with that warning track power he just displayed?
May 16, 200719 yr We are watching the ACM awards right now. I'll check in on the game after the awards show. The way the Reds are playing I don't think that I will miss much.
May 16, 200719 yr Author Has Cameron really had that much more success than Junior over the past 7 years? In the field, yes. He's about as good as it gets in CF. Don't get me wrong, I was excited to get Junior, but I hated giving up a young future Gold Glover. No way you could predict Junior's injuries, but having Cameron would have been an improvement given 20/20 hindsight...
