I go way back 1980 Corbin vs Glasgow. Glasgow won 28-27 but corbin went on to win the state that year.

I know it's recent, but the 2006 class A final between NewCath and Danville.

NewCath is up before Danville scores on a screen pass right before half. newCath is down 20(?) with 8 minutes to go in the 4th and score 3 straight td's including a 70 yard screen pass to take the lead with very litle time left.

someone from NewCath help me out.

The mud bowl between CovCath and Highlands is another, as well as T vs. H

You are fairly accurate, Shiloh....here is an excerpt from another website that details it better than I can!

"NewCath made one of the most amazing comebacks in championship game history. Late in the third quarter, you might have thought Danville had NewCath beat as the Admirals took a 34-17 lead with about 2 minutes left in the third quarter. But in the 4th quarter, the Breds' scored 3 TD's within 5 minutes and finished an amazing comeback winning 37-34. This was Bob Schneider's first win over Danville and gives NewCath back-to-back State Championships"

I'd have to say that is probably the most exciting game that I have ever watched.

This is my top ten best games,

1. Prestonsburg 16-15 2OT Danville 1993 class AA semifinals.

2. Lawrence Co. 36-28 Breathitt Co. 1997 class AA Quarterfinals.

3. Breathitt Co. 25-21 Ft. Knox 1996 Class AA statefinals.

4. Evarts 8-7 Pikeville 1990 Class A Quarterfinals.

5. Breathitt Co. 42-35 2OT Frankin-Simpson 1995 class AA statefinals.

6. Pikeville 18-13 Hazard 1992 class A 2nd-round.

7. Sheldon Clark 16-15 OT 1998 class AAA Quarterfinals.

8. Belfry 33-27 OT Elizabethtown 2003 class AA statefinals.

9. Ashland 19-14 Bell Co. 1990 class AAA semifinals.

10. Newport Cent. Cath. 37-34 Danville 2006 Class A statefinals.

2005 Playoffs Devils versus Newport ....Back and forth huge plays .... decided in OT

That was a great game. Just didnt end in our boys favor.

2003 AA State Semi-Finals

Lloyd Memorial VS. Belfry

Another good game. I have never been as cold as I was that night ever. Froze my butt off so bad.

2003 AA State Semi-Finals

Lloyd Memorial VS. Belfry

Great game, and the one the next week vs Etown was even better. :thumb:

Shelby County vs North Harden 93 playoff game

NH given SC the worse loss during the season that year. At NH and they score on the first play from scrimage. SC fought their way back into the game and held NH deep in their own territory. A bad face mask call (player got the shoulder pads not face mask) gave NH some more downs. They throw an out later that is picked off by Brooks for a TD. They go for 2 and hit a PA pass. NH was the number 1 ranked team in the state and had been for most of the year that year. Of the 8 teams playing for a state title that year SC played against Male, Cov Cath, Danville and Bowling Green.

2006 District Championship Game 3A, Region 4, District 8.

Ashland and Johnson Central! Man what a whale of a game.

The best I've seen personally was probably the 2004 Belfry vs Prestonsburg game that BHS won 20-14 in OT.

But the 2002 Trinity vs Male shootout takes the cake, especially if offense is what you pay to see.

1981 AA state semi-finals, Bardstown @ Mayfield. The legend Garnis Martin calls a "Georgia pass" (aka "Hook & Lateral") for a Bardstown score in the last few seconds. Few people remember that Bardstown was an A school "playing up" in that era.

Bardstown goes on to beat Somerset the next week at Cardinal Stadium.

St. X vs. Hopkinsville => State Semi-Finals @ Hopkinsville.... The year was 1999. Half Time score was 21 - 3 Hoptown. St. X got on the board with a 44 yard field goal as the first half ended.... X had 5 offensive plays in the 1st quarter and not many more in the 2nd... X scored early in the third to make it 21-9. After an interception, X got 7 more to make it 21- 16. Hoptown drove down to the X 12 yard line and had a 4 and 2.... Hoptown coach elected to go for the first instead of the field goal....??? The X defense held and the Offense took over. X had 89 yards to go and 1:53 on the clock.... On a thrid down and game, from the 25 yard line, with 14 seconds left, St. X completes a pass (post pattern) to a receiver who had not caught a pass all year.... Bob White of the CJ described the game in the opening paragraph of his column as " St. Xavier's football team needed a miracle and got on to pin an unbelieveable 22-21 defeat on Hopkinsville..."

It was a miracle and one of the greatest thrilling victories I have witnessed.

The Final score was 22 - 21 St. X. This same St. X team went on the next week to top Bryan Station (Eric Shelton) for the 4A State Championship

34-31 in OT....

I would vote for either of those games, they were unbelievable!
