THe Cats went from 79 to 95 without a National Title.Thats what means the most to me!:thumb: :thumb: Exactly! I know I have said that a few times. I mean how does winning one more game affect rather or not you think a coach did a good job. Say we did win that double overtime game and then lost, the same people would still want Tubby gone, but they just would just wouldn't be saying the final four. They probably would say well the final four is the furthest Tubby can get us and we need someone else who can get us all the way. Basically They would come up with some other thing to say. One game shouldn't make a difference, because in the end if you not the National Champion you still ending your season in heartbreak...
March 31, 200719 yr Tubby lost 25 games his last two years there. I believe that's more than any other coach over a two game span has ever done. I'm not trying to bash Tubby. I just stating a fact there. He had that three year run which was great. I dont' think there were a lot of complaints at that time. In my opinion, if he would have made it to one final four during that time, there wouldn't have been as many complaints about him during the past two seasons. In Miami it's all about winning national championships. In Kentucky it's all about going to the final four and winning national championships. You can only live off of one for so long, as both of these coaches demonstrated. First of all once again Coker was fired, Tubby was not going to be fired because Tubby had done enough to where you couldn't fire him. Coker however didn't do enough and only got worse every year he was there. So once again no comparison between the two..Also I call bull on that statement that say we won in that double overtime game and got to the elite 8. Because if we go to the final four and then lose to UNC in the final four, and then have the same record that we had the last 2 years. All the same people would want him gone, but they would just have to find something new to say for why he should be gone. One game should not make a difference between if people think a coach should stay or be gone! And that is another reason why Dick is right in saying stuff about UK fans because we do have some UK fans who exactly like what he said...

March 31, 200719 yr Two final Fours from 79 to 95. Zero National Titles in 16 years and only two final Fours! I always felt that UK had respect then. Now if you want to Compare Tubby with Pitino thats another story,but then you should compare all Coaches to Pitino. 2 of those years we were on probation and this is the longest stretch we've ever been without going to a final four. Can I compare this to any other coach?

Jesus Christ could come in here and win a national title every year, and some people would be bashing him. That's life. Personality conflicts, racism, whatever. I don't care who your coach is, what color, what race, what sex, it doesn't matter, they're still gonna get hatemail. Tubby was getting paid 2 million a year, it's hard for me to feel that sorry for him.

You may want to see what the atmospher was like in Chapel Hill just a few years ago. When you are winning everything is peachy. When you hit a bad stretch, the morons come out of the wood work. They HATED Smith for along time in Carolina.
