Does anyone know who made the all tournament team?

Featured Replies

I was Just curious if anyone has a list of who made the ALL (state) TOURNAMENT TEAM?

Congrats to all the young men that received these awards. :thumb:

Very proud of Josh Wood of GRC on receiving the Harold Thomas Browning scholarship. Also for Preston Knowles that made all tournament.

All of these athletes deserve a big...:thumb:

Guess you have to get out of the first round to have a player make the list??

Actually, yeah, I think you do. Last year Warren Central had two players in Jeremy Anderson and Joe Hood that dropped 15+ in their one game, but were not on the list. Anderson especially was deserving. There's just not enough room on the list for multiples of the later rounds and players from first round exits.

Congrats to both Rice and Henderson from Holmes who made the team.

Rice- 17.7 PPG 7.3 RPG

Henderson- 12.3 PPG 6.3 RPG

I was verey surprised to not see Austin Hill on this list. He may have been in the top 5 in the whole tourney scoring wise.

Hill averaged 20.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in three games. He made 15 of 16 free throws for 93.3 percent went 7-of-17 on 3-point shot for 41.2 percent.

I agree fballstud06, Hill being left of was a complete joke.

I also thought Hill had it in the bag.

I was also surprised that Matt Walls didn't get MVP, not sure on Scott County's first game but I think Walls got the player of the game every other game besides the finals. Not that Mackey was a bad choice.

Congratulations to Jonathan Ferguson of Elliott for being named to the all tourney team!!:dancingpa

He'd have been on my team, had I been afforded a vote. :thumb:

Not that Rice and Henderson were bad picks, I mean Rice scored 23 and 26 in the two final games and Henderson played lock down defense on Profitt and Jones and had 18 in the final game, but Hill was the most consistent scoring atleast 20 every game.

If you'll notice, the team breaks up like this:

Champion — 2 selections + MVP

Runner-up — 3 selections

Semifinalist - 2 selections

Quarterfinalist - 1 selection

There were a few situations where you could make a case for one teammate over the other, because that's what it comes down to.

Adair: Lewis (14ppg, 55.6 FG%, 8-10 FT%, 3 ast, 4.5rpg) over Fudge (9.5ppg, 45.5 FG%, 8-8 FT%, 11 ast); there are good cases for both.

South Laurel: You could make a case for either Proffitt or Smith. Smith had the clutch plays to get SL over the hump against Fairdale, but Proffitt had a big game and hit some clutch ones in that one as well. Proffitt had a tough start against Holmes, but made some big plays trying to lift the Cardinals up from behind, while Smith was in foul trouble much of the game, which limited his effectiveness. Smith scored 30 to Proffitt's 29, and each grabbed 11 boards and hit 7-of-9 from the line. Smith hit for a higher percentage from the field and had fewer turnovers, but Proffitt had to deal with press ballhandling.

For WC, you could make cases for Britt, Hood, Driver and Rhodes, but Anderson and Hudson had outstanding tourneys. Hill was amazing, but Rice and Henderson were too.

For Ballard, I though Gholson was an impact player, and Cox hit some clutch shots, but they shouldn't go over Hamilton, Beckham or Stanley.

Scott County's representatives all had great tourneys, and Jordan Lee didn't even make the team despite being the tournament's leading rebounder (34) and shot-blocker (10). His defensive presence was a big reason for Ballard's anemic 28% shooting night. Does Mackey need to be named a member of the ATT? I thought it was understood the MVP was a member of the ATT? Gotta get Lee in there somewhere.

I think all were very good choices for all tournament team. It's a shame that they only give out a specific number of awards. It was a surprise that Hill wasn't on the all tourney team but Rice and Henderson did play very well and were deserving.

Matt Walls, Cameron Hundley, and Bud Mackey all played very well during the tournament. These kids all made strong cases for themselves as far as recruiting goes. I think Walls should end up at UK on SCHOLARSHIP!

Congratulations to all the players that made the All Tournament Team especially J. Ferguson from Elliott County.
