March 22, 200719 yr Got to be more to it than that. I'm sure the University of Kentucky was behind Tubby. He wasn't getting the job done with what he had and he didn't want to change it. I'm sure if he would have changed the staff, the Minnesota job would be someone elses. He is to loyal - that can be good... and bad.

The interesting thing about the Tubby debate is that there is just as much evidence of his success as there is his failure. One can make solid factual arguments to support either side. In this case Doyle (like many KY fans) are only giving one side of the coin.

Tubby had four (4) teams at KY that made it to the Elite Eight. Two were leftovers from the Pitino era and two were teams he recruited.
March 22, 200719 yr Don't get me wrong. I do find Doyle entertaining, but the enigma that was Tubby's career at the University is Kentucky is much more interesting to me than a writer (or posts) taking one side or the other.

More interested in the entertainment part and less on the accuracy part. Again I am not one interested in bashing Doyle, I like him for what he is.

March 23, 200719 yr I really like Tubby but this article isnt far off. Lets face it he was great at Tulsa and Georgia because seasons like this one would be some of their better ones. He does better at the smaller stage and will do fine with his new school. I agree with Doyel.
