It must have been 1979 at Bellevue that Sutkamp ran in the mud for all those yards because Flocker,Bostick,Stephens,Pickle and Vanderhoof an I believe Tommy Cumpton all played and there must have been about a foot of mud Coach Snyder wanted to put it off til Saturday and Bellevue had something else going on so they beat us on Fridat night

That game (79' vs. Bellevue) was a mud bath but imo that was just after days of torential rains. I believe the one in question the weather was dry for a long period of time prior to that night, dry all around town and rolling mud on the field, was obvious that it had been hosed down. I am thinking it was at Mt. Sterling.

Then didn't we come up to Morehead with the winner going to Ludlow?1975

Yes, that was the same year. That was discussed earlier on this thread I believe. Raceland was beaten on that Friday night by Mt. Strerling at their place - district ended up in a deadlock even after all the computer rankings and a "district title playoff" to determine the district champ was played at Morehead (MSU's field) on the Monday which Raceland won 30-0. Then the Playoff at Ludlow on following Friday. 3 games in 7 days for the Rams.

Exactly and the legend goes our star had to be escorted out of the Hotel bar about Mid-night the night before the Ludlow game, An I still say he was the best back Raceland ever had

I think Boyles will mature really fast at QB, and the receivers will be alright. But, that is only going to be about 40-50% of their game. The tell tell sign will be the OL, they are going to be the ones opening the holes for Denton and Carver.

Defensively, I hope the secondary can mature quickly, or we may be in trouble.

I don't know about the bar story but I agree in that he was the best back in Raceland history out of a lot of very good backs throught the years. At least he was the best that I remember seeing play.

:thumb: I feel that his Raceland team will be o.k. if they can stay away from injuries. As far as the recievers and d-backs it will show that Coach G. Parker will be missed. That was the areas that imo he helped more than any and he helped everywhere.

Thanks for answering my question, I was told that Boone did look good throwing a tight ball and finding the open receivers.

I would take M. Sammons over him any day. The one you mentined was good and had the potential to be great but IMO attitude seperates the good from the best. I also think the other RB beside him was the better of the two.(C. Campbell)

I agree Ram, this has been my concern from the start. I'm confident that the coaching staff will have things in order before the opener.

Who is starting in the defensive backfield? I figured Shannon Large, how about Pearcy is he a factor, how about Bobby Mckee?Brian Tolliver or Jeff Tolliver

I know Large will start at corner, he had three INT's last year. Unless Peircy changed positions he is an OLB. The Tollivers are a posibility.
