March 19, 200719 yr Rumors are that David Hobbs will be stepping down due to health reasons. He has missed games in the past due to some health issues. He was responsible for the lineup snafu. I don't see how Rigot and Hanson hang on. I see Finney moving up. Other rumors out there are former players Scott Padgett and Derek Anderson would like to join the staff. If I were Tubby I would throw a lot of money at Kerry Keating the assistant coach at UCLA. I think Keating was at Tennessee with Jerry Green and Buzz Peterson. Keating kept tabs on Lofton.

They're both still in the league, never coached before. They may be really good... Local roots and all... True pride in the program. These 2 guys have had long enough NBA careers that I have no doubt they know how to work hard... I don't see them slacking up on recruits at all. That said, not so sure that I see either of them coming next season.

That said, not so sure that I see either of them coming next season. If pride and knowing how to work hard are requirements for an assistant coaching, then I am sending my resume to Tubby tomorrow. Being in the league and having played for UK are no guarantee that you know how to coach or how to recruit. There are too many unknowns about these guys.

You said it right there "never coached before" I'm sure these are hard working guys or they would have never made it where they are now. I just don't think Tubby is in a position to take a chance on a rookie coaching staff.

March 20, 200719 yr Hobbs stay, Hanson and Rigot are gone IMO. This is what I think will happen. Tubby and Hobbs are very close. I think Finney will move up. Remember, he was one of the two former Tubby assistants who became a head coach (Tulane) before he was fired. Ron Jursa at Georgia and Marshall (also just fired) was the other. Interesting, Pitino has had 29 former assistants go on to head coaching positions. Mitch Barnhart will act as the bad guy in getting rid of some of these assistant coaches. I think that might be a ploy by Mitch to gain some points with the Big Blue Nation who is wanting this to happen. Bad guy/good guy.
