I said a final 4 every five seasons. Certainly not every year. NOBODY will do that.

Unrealistic for anyone. No one in the history of college basketball averages a final four every five seasons.

Shoulda...Coudaaaa... DIDNT...

You still didn't answer my question. If you say your perception wouldn't have changed then what more do you want? You want FF, and they would have given you one. If you say your perception would have changed then your basing the future of a program on one game that the ball bounced the other way.

You were just using "coudaa's"...Telfair and Johnson?

You still didn't answer my question.

If we would have gotten a few of the several top recruits who said no we could have made a run too. I stick to reality. Reality its been since 98.

Say we beat MSU in the overtime elite 8 game in 2005 and advance to the Final Four, then lose to eventual champion UNC. Does that change your perception of the program since it would have been a FF appearance?? Another IF question yes. But you want final fours. If that happened what would your outlook be even after the last two seasons?

Mine would.

With all the parity you guys say that there is, when you get your shot at the FF you must capitalize.

Load up for 3-4 years then go again

Pitino has been to the F4 more recently.. have a nice night

I'm not at all satisfied with the last two seasons either. But two seasons is not enough to evalute the future, when your coach has is averaging 26 wins a season over 10 years. Even if we do land Patterson and Lucas, thats still not a guarentee of success. To be fair, realistic, and intelligent about the program and the game of basketball, wait one more season to see what happens.

Then hang a Louisville banner, Pitino doesn't coach UK and is not considered for the job...I will.

Okay recruiting expert, what EXACTLY do they do to close the deal?

I'm far from a recruiting expert. Truth be told I could care less more often than not. But it's part of the job and I talk to and have close contact with the people you guys look to for insight. Over the next two months a large chunk of the major 08 prospects are going to declare and be waiting to sign in November. UK seems to always be in on and often lead for the big names that wait and only once over the last 5 years did they get the "prize". If you don't get it done in November you are at a major disadvantage at UK's level. And if you need me to go s l o w it's because the teams that have a great season move up the list and the 17-19 year old being recruited acts like a 17-19 year old and can sometimes buy the hype about the "next big thing" after they were ready to decide before the season on a team that had a few rough stretches and an early exit. The fact that you need this explained says enough...

I would rather have 2 Sweet 16's than 1 final four and an NIT apperance.

Can't say I agree with you...

I'll see your two Sweet 16's and raise you. I would like to see a team that has the appearence of winning the national championship. That appearence hasn't been there the last few years.

The problem exactly. Remember Marquette had a final four not too long back. Are they considered a power program? What about George Mason? UMASS? Get where I'm going with this? Consistancy is more important is evaluating sucess then big "high's" and low "low's"

I think I understand you and might even possible agree. BTW, welcome to the site!:thumb:

I'll bet you'd have a whole lot easier time telling me who was in the Final Four 2 years ago as opposed to who lost out in the Sweet 16.
