I'm not defending Tubby by any means, but the facts don't lie.

The tourney seems to be the only report card for coaches and programs nowadays (fair or unfair), and Tubby has done better than Coach K in recent history.

My point is NO UK fan cares what Duke or Coach K has done. Fact is we have not made a final 4 in 8 years probably getting ready to be 9. We have played on day 1 in SEC tourney 2 years in a row finishing 3rd last year and 4th this year..in a 6 team division.

I love how NONE of the Duke fans have been calling for coach K's head.

In Coach Hall's and Rupp's defense about moving on to the next round when they were coaching, many years they had only 32 teams in the tourney, so the field was much strong at that time. Also, Rupp and Hall ususally played less games then, the 1978 team was 30-2, almost if not all the teams entering the tournament this week had already played that many games so winning 30 games was more difficult. And yes, Tubby has won 30 or more twice, but he also has lost double figure games in a season more than any coach in UK history, including Rupp who was at UK many, many, many more years than Tubby.
