McRoberts and Paulas...

Featured Replies

Josh McRoberts - 40 min. - 22 pts. - 12 reb. - 4 asst. - 5 blk

Greg Paulus - 38 min. - 25 pts. - 5 reb. - 4 asst. - 3 stl.

Not too shabby if you ask me.

As I mentioned in the post game thread, McRoberts played real well tonight, but Paulus, while he scored the ball, is way to TO prone to lead a serious title contender. Now that may change before his career is over, him being a sophmore and all, but I just buy into him as the floor general yet.

That will be hard to recover from...

^ next year...it is a bigger hit...though it is still ONLY Nelson...isn't that weird.

I would take McRoberts's and Paulus's heart and effort over Bradley's and Morris's any day of the week. These guys have had their ups and downs all year, but the effort and will to win is always there.

I think with McRoberts and Paulus they are both good players, but McRoberts isnt a go to guy to get you that important bucket whenever its needed on the low post. He did okay tonight, but VCU was pretty undersized.

And Paulus, I believe, will always be a liability defensively against really quick guards.

^ great post LMB....Paulus can't be the "one" defensively....Nolan Smith will fix that next season...my main concern for '07-'08 is whethe or not Zoubek grows up, and allows for Josh to play with his face to the basket again...it makes him so much more explosive.

I think Duke is more depth challenged than leadership challenged. Lack of depth was much more apparent in the game's final five minutes than lack of leadership.

This was a good game. I expect Duke to be really good next year with the talent they have to go along with what they are bringing in.

3 years running...that shouldn't be a factor next season..I will appreciate their depth much more next season...than anytime in the last 20 years...especially with the results of the past 3 seasons.

:thumb: They should have GREAT depth next season...What is the recruiting looking like???

Taylor King - 6'7", 215 lbs. McDonald's AA

Kyle Sinlger - 6'8", 210 lbs. McDonald's AA

Nolan Smith - 6'3", 175 lbs. McDonald's AA

...and a legit chance at Patrick Patterson, with the three they have right now...they are adding one of those supremely special classes ie...Shane Battier and Co....if they get Patterson..they will cut the nets within 2-3 years.

^ Keep in mind that UK signed three McDonald's All Americans a few years ago. Has not worked out exactly as planned. Oh, I forgot, you cannot read my posts anymore, so sad.

Obviously it's up in the air right now, but JMO, Patterson won't go to Duke if McRoberts returns. I think he comes back, therefore IMO it's down to UK and UF for Patterson.
