Congratulations to JBS...I had my doubts as to whether they could get it done against Hazard on the big stage, but they took care of business. Now, I'd love to see them make a good showing at Rupp.

 

I know they're a pretty big underdog, but I think they have the talent that if they play good team ball, keep their poise, and have a good game, they could make things interesting. Hopefully, the experience from some of tournaments and tough early scheduling they played will pay off. Good luck Crusaders. :thumb:

How does everyone think that JBS will fair against their next opponents, Warren Central.

I've seen both Clark Stepp and Justin Hicks play. And IMO, Hicks is just that much better. If he doesn't have the shot, he'll give it up. He's quicker. Stepp just isn't a team player. While he can bring it inside and shoot outside, he just isn't a player that most college coaches will go for. He's to hyped.

 

As for the game, Hazard gave it their best. But when you just shoot 8 foul shots to one opposing players 18, it isn't going you're way.

 

Nope, sure Isn't. It means Hazard should have taken the ball inside more.

Who all made the 14th Region All Tournament team?

I think he played 3 games,96 minutes with 3 fouls for the entire tourney. But yet shot almost 50 free throws???? He must me really good. Give me Hicks anytime.

Not sure but of the 15 that made it, 14 were in attendance according to the radio guys with only two seniors, Hicks from Hazard and Hayes from Breathitt. I think that just shows how a lot of teams are in or have been in a rebuilding phase for the last couple of years. I was a critic of June Buchanan for the two years prior to this season. I though their schedule was ridicules and I thought they hyped the Step kid too much too soon. Not this year, he has earned the hype and his team earned the wins in the region. There's been a lot of talk about them not playing team ball, etc. and I think there is some truth to that at times. I hope they don't go to Rupp and get all selfish because of the crowd and the setting, as there will be a temptation to do so with anyone. I wish them luck and will be cheering for them and Sandy Hook!

I think Clark Stepp is a much better player than some posters are giving him credit.

IMO yes. Put Cox at the point and this team would have been alot better.

 

Clark has two of the best big men in the region and never uses them, or even Cox for that matter.

 

Dont get me wrong I think Clark is a good player but is overated, has alot of "support", and isint a team player.

Warren Central just beat Shelby Valley by 3, who Hazard beat by 8, and JBS has beat Hazard two times, I know you cant go by that, but still, if they play like they have been in the region, they have a chance at going to the final four, or even the finals, believe it or not.
