According to the JBS staff, Hicks is a descent player. Cox isn't allowed to touch the ball until each Stepp shoots the ball ten times.:lol:

 

Id like to know what there opinion of Warren Central is

personally, I thought Hicks was the best player on the floor tonight. It is sad that Hazard didn't pull out the W for well deserving senior to make it to Rupp.

Congrats to both teams for a successful season. These teams also met in the finals of the All A I believe ,eventhough there was a turnaound in the result. The biggest turnaround to me was that June B started playing team ball and used their potential. Everyone knows they had the most potential in the region just never used it until now.

Congrats to Hicks and goodluck in the future.

 

I believe June B will do well against Warren which is very athletic, but June B has the guards to handle their pressure that always seems to be the key to success for Warren in the past couple years.

The JBS haters have deliberately lied in telling such a tale, and it's sad to see how you and other haters are oh so eager to pick it up and spread it like an arson wildfire. I'm not a JBS basher, but I do have to say those are the exact words that came out of Coach Gary Stepp's mouth when he was interviewed by WKCB 107.1 right after the game. He said Clark was the best point guard in the state and Hicks was "a disant player" I would have to say that I think they are both great players, but if Hicks would of got 18 freethrows like Stepp did in that game, I'm pretty sure it would of been the Dawgs in Rupp! They chased Hicks all night long running 2 or 3 guys in and out on him and had hands all over him all night, just like Hazard did to Clark Stepp. The only difference was that they called the hand checks and touches on one end but seemed to forget about the other.

Hazard shoots a total of 8 free throws in the game, JBS shoots 20 and out of those Clark had 18 of them.

The JBS coach said after the ballgame that Clark Stepp was the best player in the state:walk: . He needs to travel outside of the mountains, the forest fires have clouded his vision.

 

I think that he is a pretty good player but he wasn't even the best player on the floor. That would be JUstn Hicks of Hazard.

I'd have to say no. I do think Clark is much better than what alot of people want to admit. However in the same breath, I would have to ask if they would have won it without Tate Cox or without Garrison Collins or Trey Short or even Clint Stepp, who did a pretty decent job denying Hicks the ball last night. All in all, I felt that JBS is , top to bottom, the most talented team in the region when they utilize ALL of their tools. If they go to Rupp and get everyone involved, they will make a good run at Warren Central, but if they go down and try to make it a one or two man show, it will not be a pretty sight.

Furthermore, I think that everyone in the 14th Region will rally around June Buchanan because they represent us. With that being said, I don't think everyone will rally around them because they are a small school. They are loaded by mountain standards. They have a 6'9" center,two big time shooters in Cox and Clint Stepp three good role players at forward, an excellent point guard and coaches that have coached at the college level. Thsi isn't Hoosiers! This is a private school and them being loaded is no accident. Do you think anyone rallyed around University Heights because they are a small school? I hope that they win the whole thing but not because they are a small school but because that would be great for the 14th region.

I've seen both Clark Stepp and Justin Hicks play. And IMO, Hicks is just that much better. If he doesn't have the shot, he'll give it up. He's quicker. Stepp just isn't a team player. While he can bring it inside and shoot outside, he just isn't a player that most college coaches will go for. He's to hyped.

 

As for the game, Hazard gave it their best. But when you just shoot 8 foul shots to one opposing players 18, it isn't going you're way.
