Notre Dame 59 Holmes 50

Congratulations to Coach Darpel and the Pandas

NDA wins the 9th . Congratulations to Coach Darpel and the girls.

Thought Holmes played better than in the semis but it just wasn't enough. Notre Dame was just too balanced. Holmes never let it get away, and Notre Dame never panicked when Holmes cut into the lead.

I haven't been this happy for a group of kids in a long, long time. These young ladies, broke through the glass ceiling, and now are on their way to Diddle Arena to represent not only the Ninth Region but their school which is celebrating it 100th year of making a difference in young women lives..

NDA hasn't been to the Sweet Sixteen since 1987 which was before any of the current players were even born. Sweet Sixteen fans, watch out for this team, because now that they have broken through that ceiling, this all becomes fun, and they will not be happy with just playing a game and leaving.

In 2004 during a game at Rupp Arena after a CovCath victory, Nicole Dickman told her Dad and me that one day she would be going to play in the Sweet Sixteen. She has worked so hard for that dream to come true, and now is living her dream. It is so nice to see someone who has a dream, works hard for it, and then for it to come true. Way to go Nicole.....

BTW: Dickman scored her 1000th point for NDA tonight, a task which I have been told hasn't happened in a long, long time......

Oh what a feeling........... Tonight party, tomorrow get ready to play.

One game at a time, one win at a time, and getting better every time.

Not a bad year for the NDA basketball program. These young ladies won the Frosh Ninth Region Title, the JV Ninth Region Title and now the Ninth Region...

WOW what a year for Basketball at NDA.......

Congrats Pandas. I have looked forward to this since October.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer

I loved the quote from the Holmes outstanding basketball Coach, Coach Hill, when she was talking about the game.....

They made their run with their experienced players - Dickman and Drees and their high-low offense," said Holmes coach Celeste Hill.

"But the great thing about it is I don't ever have to see that again."

A huge tip of the cap to the Holmes players, coaches and fans. I told Coach Hill, that NDA would be playing Holmes again, but in an all 35 District, 9th Region Championship game. Great job ladies....... Good luck Senior #3 Cassie McGee and # 25 Meghean Bright.... Junior #15 Christina Weaver, you are indeed a player......great game young lady.....

According to the enquirer roster, Slade #22 is also a Sr for Holmes. So, good luck to her to on behalf of theoldguy oversight. You are getting old.

Great game and good luck Panda's in BG next week. You are playing a very quick and athletic team so be on your toes and find that A game again!!

Congrats to the Pandas. If Holmes and CCH meet in the boys side, when would be the last time the same two schools met on the girls and boys side?

I understand Notre Dame is different but you all catch my drift.

Great game for the panda's The biggest disappointment was the lack of support shown by the CCH student body. Ironically, I saw quite a few CCH parents at the game, but you could count the CCH students on one hand.

Very disappointing!!!!

Anyway..... great job Panda's. Keep playing hard Casey J.. Your shots will start falling. :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

Looked that up last night myself.... and I understand....:D

It's the team that at least at NDA/CovCath, love to hate....

The Ft. Thomas Highlands Bluebirds in the 00/01 season....:D

Congratulations Pandas! Best of luck down the road!:dancingpa

Is Holmes the favorite in the 35th next year?

Is Holmes the favorite in the 35th next year?

They lose their PG and SG in Slade and McGee. I think NDA loses more in their size players Drees and Dickman. I'd still say NDA is the favorite.

Is Holmes the favorite in the 35th next year?

Well not really! NDA only loses two seniors from the team, but of course they are two of the best players. Remember NDA won the Frosh, and JV Ninth Region Titles this season also.....so I really don't think so....

Weaver, and Webb of Holmes, WoW but they do lose forward McGee and point guard Slade two very important players to them...

As a NDA Panda fan, who cares about next year, cause we are still playing the game this year....:D Next year won't come until about 10:30pm CDST Saturday March 17th, after the NDA players and coaches cut down the nets at Diddle Arena.....:thumb:
