March 9, 200719 yr Author The 10-6 conference record is the only thing they have going for them better than Clemson and a home win vs. UF. Vandy OOC looks like this. 2 top 50's(Georgetown 13 L, and Georgia Tech 49 W). 4 Top 100's (Georgetown 13 L, Georgia Tech 49 L, App State 64 L, and Toledo 87 W). Also losses to 192 Furman, and 115 Wake Forest. So 3 fewer wins overall than Clemson (in the beat Duke scenario)and several more bad losses. Just so you know, I think Vandy is a lock also, but Clemson with a road win over Duke would be a lock also with 22 wins.

March 9, 200719 yr Author What about last 10??? :thumb: Clemson 3-7 7 of the last 10 against the top 50 Vandy 6-4 5 of last 10 against the top 50 I agree that Vandy should be a lock, but would you really leave out Clemson if they were 22-9, .500 in the league.

If they got the Duke win, I'd have a much tougher time. As I have said, what I know leads me to believe last 10 is #2 on the list...

March 9, 200719 yr Author I was talking about star injuries in a big win with that post. Last 10 is vital... I know, not mixing that up. I just didn't think last 10 was more important than Conference play, overall record, SOS/top25, top 50, bad losses. Your peeps tell you last ten is that important???
March 9, 200719 yr Interesting stat, I believe the last 7 teams to stay undefeated the longest (which was Clemson this year) each made at least the Sweet 16. In or out, I don't think that will happen. I actually thought Clemson had a good shot to get in had they won yesterday. Unfortunately for them, I think they are NIT bound.
March 9, 200719 yr I wonder if this has ever happened. The final undefeated team in the nation, that opens the season 17-0 is probably not going to make the dance??? A shame really. Funny thing too is that if not for the Duke timekeeping debacle, they are probably in the tourney. If Clemson beats Duke at Duke, they are 8-8 in the league and 22-9 overall(probably a tourney lock). A fine line(or tenths of seconds in this case) between dancing and playing in the not in the tournament tournament. Don't forget that game was tied...it's not like Duke stole anything there.

March 9, 200719 yr Clemson was hot at the first of the year, but they will not make it past 2 rounds in the NIT...
