March 9, 200719 yr I wonder if this has ever happened. The final undefeated team in the nation, that opens the season 17-0 is probably not going to make the dance??? A shame really. Funny thing too is that if not for the Duke timekeeping debacle, they are probably in the tourney. If Clemson beats Duke at Duke, they are 8-8 in the league and 22-9 overall(probably a tourney lock). A fine line(or tenths of seconds in this case) between dancing and playing in the not in the tournament tournament.
March 9, 200719 yr Clemson proved in conference play that they werent very good. You gotta play atleast 1 good team out of conference.
March 9, 200719 yr Author Clemson proved in conference play that they werent very good. You gotta play atleast 1 good team out of conference. Their non-conference schedule was not great, they did beat Mississippi State and Georgia. SOS is 41, RPI is 40.
March 9, 200719 yr Their non-conference schedule was not great, they did beat Mississippi State and Georgia. SOS is 41, RPI is 40. But what was their OOC SOS?
March 9, 200719 yr But what was their OOC SOS? UKPat, I believe earlier in the season you and me had a debate on whether Clemson was legit. I am now here to receive my large plate of crow.
March 9, 200719 yr Not great, but not awful either though. 2 top 50's, 5 top 100's. So that makes 10 games against 100+ teams? Ew...
March 9, 200719 yr UKPat, I believe earlier in the season you and me had a debate on whether Clemson was legit. I am now here to receive my large plate of crow. Not necessary.
March 9, 200719 yr Author So that makes 10 games against 100+ teams? Ew... They played 14 OOC games. Won em all.
March 9, 200719 yr They played 14 OOC games. Won em all. And we see how far that's gotten them.
March 9, 200719 yr Author On the bubble. So you think they still do not get in if they beat Duke? I do not think with a .500 record and 22 wins in a power conference that there is any way they are left out.
