Are all of you all the sames ones who talked about how Scott baseball would dominate the Breds last year? If so, you realize that I was right and the Thorobreds embarrassed the Eagles on the diamond. Even though it is tournament time and anything can happen my heart says Harrison, but my mind says Scott will win this one 71-58.

Completly different teams, completly different sports, I knew someone would make that comparison and it is a bad one here is why.

 

1) Last years Baseball team was struggling going into regionals, Scott's Basketball team is playing good ball right now.

 

2) Harrisons Basketball team isn't as good as their baseball team

 

3) Dominating Pitching can control games, while in basketball 1 player can take over games offensivly, It takes a complete team effort to shut down a team defensivly, If you have a dominating pitcher, your team is in control of the ball game (If memory serves me Brent Smith did that to the same Harrison team 7-1, that later on pounded the ball against a different Scott pitcher.)

 

4) Where as Scott and Harrison were matched in talent in baseball Scott has overall more talent than Harrisons basketball team.

I am just getting myself prepared for the next season (Baseball), but thanks for the in depth analogy SirMixAlot. I did predict a 71-58 Scott High win.

I know Harrison Co has been up and down this year, from everything I have read on here, Scott has gotten better over the year and has a good team.

 

I will say Scott wins by 10-20.

Pendleton County girls beat Nicholas County by 16 in the regular season and then lost in the districts by 10. That is a 26 point turnaround.

 

When I was in HS, Winston Bennett's team was #1 in the state and had beaten a Louisville school by 40 or 50, if my memory serves. They lost to that team in the first round of the districts.

 

GRC's girls team lost 62-37 to Montgomery County in December.

Lost 49-44 in January

Lost 61-38 in district championship.

So they got 20 points better in a month and then 18 points worse in a month.

 

Don't bet the farm on the logical play of teenagers.

I understand that but I bet for all those teams that made up the points their are 100's of more that didn't, not saying that Harrison does not have a chance, but Scott has to go in the favorite, and i expect them to win by 15+.

Conner girls beat Holmes 77-43 in February.

Last night with the game being played AT CONNER, Holmes won 59-56 in OT.

 

I agree a good number of times it does not but many times it does.

Will Scott have more fan support this year,I know last it was awful for a region tourny game.

I doubt it. Don't they play at 5 o'clock? Doubt to many from Taylor Mill will make the drive. Shame too they have a shot this year. Very good team and coach. :cry:

There is no need for these first round games to be 2 sessions. It was never that hard to get a ticket or a seat when the 1st round was 1 session a few a years ago. The semis, 2 sessions is needed. Not the first round.

I agree with the teams that are playing each other.If single session would get the kids that play the last game home much eariler on a school night.
