I agree Steel..On the girls side I did not see any of the girls on any team booing the Henry County girl when she was announced on the girls all tourney team..of course they are not my favorite fans on a good day.

 

On the girls side the teams stood up and clapped for each other.

Is this just between these 2 schools? I noticed some really obnoxious things going on last year. You hate to see it, sports brings out the best and worst in students and adults.

You wouldn't think so. It's not like they border each other, like Carroll or Owen County. Just an intense game.

I would bet that they will be on the anti-Gallatin bandwagon at the regional, too.

Nope, I am from HC and I would like to see the 31st represented well. You all can say what you want, but the HC players stayed out as a team and clapped for GC when they went to get there first place trophey. As hard as it was they did it. I thikn it is a big rivalry on the court, but that is just because they both want to win the game. In the end, I thought Henry Co. players were very classy in the way they handled the defeat.

I am not sure of this but I heard HC mascot was ejected from game?

Yes, HC mascot got thrown out, but some crazy person from GC did as well. Herny was shooting a techinical foul when somebody ran across the court like a lunatic. Well, both crowds were a little rowdy and I agree with the booing. I just think they were upset with the loss. I am just glad the players were classy, I think it shows alot about the coaches. It seems to me that both teams seem to respect each other even though the games are always very physical. At the end of the game Henry Co. prayed with Gallatin and congratulated them on their victory and wished them the best of luck in the regionals. On a side note though, I thought the game was very energizing and I think Henry matches up with Gallatin and plays them as good as anyone does. Good luck to both teams in the Regionals. My ideal matchup would be a HC v. GC rematch in the championship.

That's usually what happens. The players are the ones who are learning disipline.

Just so I have it straight, we have fans from both sides being ejected, broadcasters admiting they aren't nuetral (and can apprantely call a good game if anyone ever needs a ref), everyone from everywhere yelling at officials, and this was all defended when I pointed out this might be a bad environment for high school athletics.

Let me ask my question again. What district are you from in which these things do not occur?

 

Secondly, if all you want to do is impune the 31st, why bother even reading the thread? I didn't see you post a positive thing about either team.

 

Thirdly, you've never seen bad officiating? I have seen more of it this year than I have my whole entire life. Maybe you are an official and that is why you do not want to come down from your perch.
