I think the Freshman and Sophmore classes are better than the Junior class.

Definetly agree.:thumb:

Was the drawing at 9:00 or is it at 12:00?

Also, what's the location this year?

Oops...wrong gender...

Maybe not from top to bottom, but at the top, at least NDA played and beat these Kentucky schools:

Boone Co

Montgomery Co

Lou. Presentation

Lou. Assumption

Simon Kenton

Rockcastle Co

Lou. Ballard

Lou. Mercy

Central Hardin

Not a bad group to beat and they played but lost to:

Lou. Sacared Heart

Boone Co

This is a very impressive resume. I think Mercy has not gotten as much attention as they should, believe it or not I think they may be somewhat under the radar for once. I think Montgomery Co. would love a rematch at this point in the season.

I think the Freshman and Sophmore classes are better than the Junior class.

Agree 100%!!!

IMO this is one of the weakest regions in the state , And its going to get weaker , when this 11th grade class is gone this region is bad I mean BAD.....;)

First of all you are assuming none of the underclassmen will get any better. I'd like to think they will. Also, you must have not seen Highlands lately. Their dominated by underclassmen, and their are a good number of freshmen and sophs that are playing right now at other schools who will become excellent players. No, it isn't as strong as the 11th or 7th, but I would put the 9th against any of the mountain regions year in and year out. No one competes with Lexington and Louisville, so that not a big deal.

I guess you have been getting out of BTown MRB. Coaching anymore? Care to share why?

Good post Fatty. Bet you don't get an answer, since he just seems to want to be critical, not constructive.

If Coach Darpel is not there to coach, Boone wins as Coach Fookes just plain out coaches the NDA asst.'s.(too bad she can't play for them also) Otherwise, this game is too close for me to pick and choose. NDA is playing better than everyone in the region but as we all know, Boone lost to St Henry in the Dist last yr to come back and win the region.

I will take Conner in the lower bracket.

Cheryl, congrats if you indeed had your baby, hope all is well!!

Anyone of the 4 teams in the lower bracket could be in the finals. It depends who gets hot. ND/Boone winner would seem to be the favorite, but thet still have to get by Highlands, and if they play like they did Friday that will be no easy chore by any means. I think there will be more close games in this year's tourney than in quite some time because there are really no weak teams and the draw created some great match ups. Good luck to everyone, and we will know a lot more a week from now. Personally, I like ND.

Why is it important?

Notre Dame wins their district and gets Boone Co? That's a nice reward.

NCC gets blown away and draws in with teams they have beat.

Dixie wins their district and gets a loser team that beat them by 31 earlier.

Conner wins and gets a loser that beat them.

Highlands wins a gets a team they haven't played and then gets the winner of two teams that crushed them.

So I guess from the sounds of this post, you are already handing the win to Highlands over Ludlow.... Highlands is a very good team, and is definintely the favorite in this game, however this is the one team that probably would have been the best draw for Ludlow to get out of all the teams in the region this year. And if Ludlow can find their outside shot that they have lost in the last couple of games, Ludlow can give Highlands all they can handle and could pull off the upset...

If highlands plays anywhere even close to the way that they played last friday night... ludlow will not even be close in this game... HHS is a very determined team and i do not think that they will look past ludlow either

I think Highlands is capable of beating anybody in this tournament and are probably the most dangerous team in the tournament. These freshman and sophmores playing for Highlands are not your typical freshman and sophmores and shouldn't be afforded excuses for their youth. Several of them have been playing together for years all over the southeastern part of the country. Together as a group they won the KY AAU State Championship three years in a row, beating the better teams in the state by thirty points. No, I'm not saying this is the year they're going to win the state tournament, but I'll be suprised if this team doesn't take home a state championship over the course of the next three years.

If the Birds get by NDA or Boone look out, though it will be a very tall order to get by those two teams. (Both are sound programs) Ludlow is a good draw for them.

Ludlow is a very good team. However, I think their time will be the next two years. They will get the much needed post season experience this year, and make their noise next year, IMO. The young talent there needs to big game experience. This will give them that.

I have seen Ludlow several times this year and really like them. I think this is going to be a great game. Ludlow can press and has some great guard play.

I will take HHS, again my reason being the same as why Dixie won that District, strength of schedule. However, HHS will not get past NDA or Boone, IMO.

Refresh my memory, what teams are you speaking about, Cutter Construction? I don't think all these young athletes played for them but correct me if I am wrong.

In the post I said several, when I mentioned group I was referring to those 4 players who were on that AAU team, three of which I think are starters. There are actually four on the team. Sorry for the confusion.
