Buckhorn outmanned PCC in every aspect of the game. PCC was lost and had no answer to them at all. Everyone on the red side was stunned. If Buckhorn plays like this from here on out, it will be tough to beat them. John Noble has done an outstanding job with this team.

It was an upset from the standpoint of the final point margin.

As far as point margin goes, yes it was an upset. If you want to base it on small school.....big school.... yes...upset, but team for team, no upset here. Buckhorn has a good team, their biggest weakness is depth. PCC was not as good this year as they have been in previous years. This is only one persons opinion...Buckhorn is the better team!

Like to see the smaller schools excell every once in a while, GOOD LUCK BUCKHORN!!!

What a game!!! Buckhorn played in your face man to man all night long, and PCC could not buy a shot. They got down big early, and then had to force too many outside shots to try and get back in it. I would love to see the final stats. I bet Gay had 20-25 rebounds. The Rice kid also played a heck of a game. He was really the only player that showed up the first 4 minutes for either team. Buckhorn came out and played with a fire and determination that was never matched by their opponent. This is going to be another fun regional tournament to watch. If the Horn can match tonight's effort, we have this year's Cinderella in the 14th. It was really fun and exciting to watch.

 

I wanted to see big Al's reaction after the game, and he didn't disappoint. I know there are a lot of rumors swirling, and he handled himself with class, as usual. What a great coach and person, and if this was indeed his last game at PCC, I hope he does land back on his feet somewhere else in the 14th.

 

On a side note, where were the PCC faithful tonight? There weren't as many there as I thought there would be? I hope they weren't resting up for the Hazard game.Congrats to Buckhorn.

The only upset that I would consider is the score. I, too was surprised to see that Buckhorn beat PCC by 30+ points. If they had beaten them by 2-5 points, I wouldn't have been surprised. Buckhorn has looked good all season. Perry Central just hasn't been the dominate team that hve in the past few years. Whatever is the problem, I'm sure it will be fixed by next season.

I’m here have no fear! And as for Coach Holland going or staying its really untelling what is going to happen. If they do let him go then that would be a very bad move on PCC's part.

 

And for the game PCC just didn’t make any shots. They scored 13 points in the first half. And Buckhorn didn’t miss many shots.

I"m thinking that means how much he is being offered at another in county school! And from what I have heard through the grapevine, they have done away with his position as District A.D. and have also said that his contract as High school A.D. and coach will not be renewed, so he can go back into the classroom or leave. Tough decision, NOT! Big mistake for Perry County.
