Buckhorn has a quality ball club, but WOW is definitely right!!! I would love to see a small school like Buckhorn make another trip to the big show in RUPP.

Who will be the favorite. now that PCC has been beat out. The Lex. Herald had them 1 all year, I think.

I know this was only the first game of the district, but Buckhorn made a statement tonight. I wouldn't want to play them in the district or region.

I said all along that if PCC got past Buckhorn that I thought they would win the region. But I didnt think Buckhorn would win by this many. Good Luck to Coach Noble and Buckhorn.

 

Hopefully the rumors about Coach Holland are not true. I would hate to see a coach with his resume any where but walking the sidelines on 14th region courts.

I was at this game and was very impressed with Buckhorn. They played with alot of passion. They out hustled PCC to every loose ball and just simply wanted it more. IMO PCC was looking past Buckhorn and was thinking about Hazard. Gay and Rice are real! Buckhorn had open shots and knocked them down, they had to shoot over 50% for the game, and PCC played very little defense. On the other hand PCC got few opens shots thanks to Buckhorn pressure defense. Also bad shot selection by the Dores, way to many 3s.

 

Buckhorn has a great shot to win the region if they can stay out of foul trouble.

 

Congrads Buckhorn for the win and to the Dores too on another good season under Coach Holland(maybe the last?).

I don't see Buckhorn winning the region. They are a very solid team but surely not the favorite...at this point there's really No favorite. The 14th has been wild this year, probably wilder than any other past year. It's gonna be a great regional tourney, can't wait!!

It was an upset from the standpoint of the final point margin.

The radio had Perry Central 13-56 from the field (23%) and 5-28 on threes (18%). They said Buckhorn was 25-43 from the field (53%) and 15-18 (83%) from the free throw line.

Great win, HUGE upset, and yes it will be an exciting week in Whitesburg. Al Holland is a quality guy and if PCC pushes him out the door then it is their loss and someone elses gain.

Hazard also shoots quite a few threes....if they hit only 18% then the 'Horn should roll.
