The thing is, I don't think 9/11 made Bush. (If you understand what I mean). I feel like it gave him a convenient excuse to do what he did in Iraq. If we were talking about Afghanistan, that would be a different animal. I'm not sure Gore would have taken us into Afghanistan, and for that I can agree Bush was the right man for the job. But, when talking about the scenarios that:

1) We haven't gotten Bin Laden

2) God KNOWS what the heck you can call the job we've done in Afghanistan

3)It's questionable why we're in Iraq

So, at what point do you say, Gore definitely would have been worse than Bush after 9/11? Does one correct attempt negate three horrendous bumbles?

I don't see how anyone can say Gore would have been so much worse?

But...then...we could always ask, would 9/11 have happened if Gore were president?

More than once IMO.

I think you and I need to have a little talksy. :p

Seriously...

Been googling...Gore's been involved in environmental concerns since the mid-70's. It's pretty hard to say he's using this as a political tool, given that for 3 decades he's been working on environmental issues.

And look where it's gotten him, nice big house that he abuses energy with and all.

Well, I wish I didn't have to leave this scintillating conversation. But, I do need to go stand in the storm a while.

The exact samething popped in my head when I read RM's post. I was getting read to post it when I saw yours.

Trash-talking Gore, right?
Not trash-talking Gore, questioning his films facts and his motives.
It’s inevitable, nothing we can do. We’re all going to die and some day so is mother earth.

Yup. Hasn't anybody taken a thermodynamics course? Eventually the sun and the earth are going to be the same temperature.

So, we do nothing responsible to delay that? I mean, if it's inevitable, then we should just accept that and not make any changes, right? No use prolonging the matter.

That's about 5 billion years off when our sun becomes a red giant and engulfs all the inner planets.

Yeah, because that's exactly what I said.

Well, what are you saying? I don't need a class in thermodynamics to know what you posted. But, what does it have to do with conservation and environmental responsibility?

It'll be here faster than you think. We should start planning now.
