Mason Co improves to 24-2

Pendleton Co falls to 10-13

Score pretty much says it all. This is the Royals 8th win this year by 30 points or more.

Mason takes on Bracken Co Tuesday.

Pendleton will take on Harrison Co Monday.

Darius was great tonight, PC had no answer for him. He had several blocks and a nice alley-oop dunk. The Cats appeared to play nervous early, and before they knew what hit them, they were down 30 at the half. Congrats to the Royals, you are a true state championship contender, and I really hope Darius Miller goes to UK, he was impressive. I feel bad for Kane and the seniors, they deserved a better sendoff than this, hopefully they get past Harrison Monday.

Dillon Green freshman played a good game at point tonight for the Cats.

Looking forward to watching this young man for three more years.

Why would you schedule Mason for your senior night. Mason is looking very impressive at the right time, If they play like this, It will be very difficult for anyone to beat them in the 10th.

Impressive road win here for Mason,Up 30 at the half they coasted through the 2nd half with the JV seeing lots of playing time.Congrats also to the JV as they ended there season tonight with another big W by 20+.PC struggled getting the ball up court a lot and missed lots of easy layups.Congrats to there seniors on fine careers.Next up Bracken County next in the Districts.

The Royals were hitting on all cylinders last night on offense and defense. Started out with Tyreese Scott finding a soft spot against the zone for a layup, then two steals and two more layups. Pendleton kept close early, only down 17-12 at one point. Royals then went on a 32-4 run where everything went right to lead 49-16 just before halftime. Miller was blocking EVERYTHING during the first half, had to have at least 5 or 6. Just way too much talent in blue to make this a competitive game. Belcher did what he could for PC (I think he may have scored all of PC's third-quarter points), but just didn't have enough help; and I think the Wildcats were short-handed as one of their seniors was in street clothes.

Royals shot 32-63 for the game but only 8-28 from deep. By my math, that leaves 24-35 on twos; close to 70%.

Lots of playing time for the reserves as expected; Royals dressed 14 on varsity for the first time all year.

Good luck to both teams next week. Belcher needs to touch the ball on just about every possession for the Wildcats to advance.

Memo to Coach O' Hearn: Please schedule like Scott County next season, with some of those games at the best place to watch a game in the state(The Fieldhouse). This team(and Miller) need to be showcased more than they were this season(ESPN maybe?)

We did play Scott County and Lexington Catholic (2 times) this year, The Royals lost by 5 points to Scott County on Jan.12 at Scott County and we split with Lexington Catholic. Plus the Royals played in the fifth third classic, so the Royals play very good teams, which is why they are ALWAYS tough and ready for the BIG games!!!

Scott County came to our gym last season and they are on rotating contracts on a home/away basis with one game a year. Not sure of what the schedule is for next season but if Scott County is on the schedule, they will be at the Fieldhouse due to Mason County going to Scott County this season.

It's already been stated on here that the Royals are putting together a "showcase" schedule for Miller, with the possibility of not many games at the Fieldhouse.

Course Mason Co has other really, really good players. But Darius will be the money draw if they end up going to well known national tournaments.
