Perry Central sad news!

Featured Replies

Kristen Madden went down with a knee injury last night on senior night. She was 11 pts away from setting the school scoring record, currently held by Polly Sebastian at 1,997 pts. and she was also 13 pts away from 2000 pts scored. About a minute and a half into the game she fell and after a preliminary review today at the doctor, it was said that she had a partially torn acl. They are on their way to the sports medicine clinic in Lexington to get a final verdict. Good luck Kristen, hope all the tests turn out negative for you and the Lady Dores. Would hate to see the year end like this for you.

This is indeed sad news. Kristen is a very talented player and a fine young lady. My thought and prayers go out to her and her family. Lets all hope she gets a different diagnosis from Lex.

That sucks. I've really enjoyed the handful of times I've seen her play the past few years. Hope things turn out better than expected!

I hate to hear news like this she was a very talented player that had a future in basketball. Hopefully she will get a full recovery.

Sorry to say that the news was worse than expected. She has torn her ACL, MCL, and Meniscus (sp?) Not good at all. Can't do surgery until swelling goes down and she can straighten it which could take up to a month or 2. Said her healing process will be 7-9 months long. Not looking good for college.

Does anyone know what colleges are looking at her right now? Hey they may still sign her and let her red shirt her freshman season that way she would have time to get back in rythem. I hope she has a speedy recovery. Kristen was a great kid on and off the court. All I can tell her is not to give up there is a light at the end of every tunnel. She may come back with flying colors...Wish you the best Kristen....get well soon!

Hope she heals, with no side effects. Sounds like an outstanding HS career and think about the positives, without dwelling on the record.

Pretty sure Berea College was her choice, but not for sure. They were here the other night when she was injured and told her not to worry about the injury, they still wanted her, so that is good news for her.

A knee injury is never a good thing, but the way this went down is very sad and makes you wonder why things happen the way they do sometimes. Good luck with all that comes next.
