Campbell County at Ryle

District play gets underway Friday night as Ryle hosts Campbell County at Clifford R. Borland Sr. Stadium.

The Raiders enter at 2-4 after snapping a three-game losing streak with a 35-0 road win over Tates Creek. Campbell County comes in at 3-3 after a 31-7 victory over Newport Central Catholic last Friday, giving the Camels their first win in three games.

The Raiders won last year's matchup 54-0 and also posted wins of 42-14 in 2024, 37-36 in 2023, and 35-20 in 2022.

But Friday's matchup carries added weight with both teams opening 6A District 6 play.

Ryle vs. Campbell County

Coach Honaker at Campbell was a long time assistant at Ryle. So both teams should know each other very well. Just looking at score comparisons, both teams did get running clocked by Highlands (Ryle would have been running clocked if not for the lightning calling the game). Both teams lost to Cooper, as Ryle lost 11 to 0, and Campbell lost in overtime to Cooper.

So this should be a very good game, and I will go with Campbell winning close one 17 to 14.

Camels 22-21, will be a battle!

I will take the Camels in a close one as they are finally healthy.

Got to be honest, been a longtime since I've seen the Camel faithful thinking they had a chance against Ryle. Hope they're right.

Ryle in a close one.

I'll go with Ryle in a close one.

I think this is still 0-0.

3-0 Ryle I think and these teams, ugh.

CC had a nice stand for a minute.

Big goal line stop by Camels to force a FG. Need to get the O going.

How many more penalties can you have in one half. Wow

I think it is 10-0 Ryle.

Anyone?

I think 10-0. I can’t see a scoreboard on the link.
