Mayfield hits the road to play the only 6A school left in the Jackson Purchase, and that being the McCracken County Mustangs. The Cardinals are still smarting from last week's loss to Paducah Tilghman, and McCracken enters this game fresh off a victory over Clarksville Northeast.

Both schools have played and lost to Tilghman which is the only loss on the season for both teams. Both schools have an offense that can score, and a defense that has struggled at times.

So the question is this, who can improve enough on defense to stop, or slow down, the other team's offense? Who can make the fewest mistakes?

I picked Mayfield in this game but I wouldn't be surprised if McCracken Co won it seems like they can score against anyone.

After watching Mayfield and McCracken both play PT I will say McCracken has the better passing and Mayfield the better rush offense.With that being said both teams struggle in the secondary and could come down to who has the ball last to determine the winner.

If the PT and Madisonville game somehow ends before this game is over, I'll make my way out to McCracken to watch the end of this.

It has all the makings of a spectacular, high-scoring game, which is probably why it won't be. Seems like every time we think it will be one way and all signs point to that, it goes the other way.

If it stays true to what we've all seen so far though, this could be a treat to see.

6:35 left in the first quarter. Mayfield leads 14-7. McCracken has the ball in Mayfield territory. The McCracken play by play guys said McCracken turned the ball over twice early leading to the two quick scores by Mayfield.

TD McCracken and the XP is good. 14 all with 5:09 left in the first quarter.

Another TD McCracken and the XP is no good. 20-14 McCracken.

TD Mayfield. XP is good. 21-20 Mayfield. 7:46 left in the second quarter.

Huge pass play by McCracken. Their quarterback and receivers are really good. Mustangs have it 1st and 10 at the Mayfield 15.

TD McCracken. Mustangs lead 27-21. Both teams can score the ball as we all expected.
