Newport Central Catholic is still looking to get that elusive first win of the 2026 football season. They are on the road again this week to take on Boone County who sits at 2-0 on the season looking to remain unbeaten. Newport Central Catholic has losses to Lloyd Memorial (21-3) and Paintsville (22-7). Boone County has wins over Holmes and Saint Henry.

Who wins this matchup? Newport Central Catholic or Boone County?

    I REALLY like Boone's #1 and #3. If #1 played at Ryle or Cooper, you'd hear about him all of the time. #3 is built low to ground and, if you don't strap it up, he'll embarrass you in a 1-on-1 tackle.

    I like NewCath's chances at controlling the line of scrimmage. St. Henry did a great job at getting pressure all night and I don't see any reason NewCath can't match their output.
