February 14, 200719 yr You obviously don't read the prediction threads... Not complaining about the predictions. What I get sick of is the bashing that Coaches take when their Team doesn't win. Yes, there are some Coaches in every sport who aren't as good as others, but Tubby Smith is a very good basketball coach. The Team gave up 13 layups in the 2nd half...bad bad bad. Also had 19 turnovers, that isn't good either. However, if they didnt shoot blanks from 3 in the 1st half, probably talking about a W. I thought the Cats played with intensity for 40 minutes, but lack of execution on the defensive side of the ball cost them the game last night. The fact of the matter is, this Team is still #1 in the SEC in defensive field goal % and 13 in the nation, holding their opponents to 39.1%. That to me is good coaching, Kids working hard on defense, and executing. Last night they did not execute, I doubt that Tubby told them not to though.

More specifically, one or two good big men short, and too many on the team that should not be...and as someone on the other thread noted, Stewart and some project who is not on his HS team anymore is the current class. If that's all they get and/or Morris leaves, it's a disaster...

Darn that Tubby...He missed 20 of those 23 3 pointers UK put up against UF...Doesn't he know he can't shoot... Darn that Tubby...Can't he guard anybody? He let Lofton roll off those picks so easily... Darn that Tubby... He was only 2 of 8 from the foul stripe against UF...And someone told me he was the top FT shooter in the league... Darn that Tubby...I don't know why he dribbles the ball off his hip and out of bounds so much...I always thought he was a good ball handler...
