Some reports have the number as high as 100 schools that either refused or would not reply to Miami on scheduling them this year. U Mass coach Frank Martin said the same thing after the Miami game.

Apparently NET ranking carries a lot less weight in decision making now. The wins above bubble and another metric are more important and Miami's numbers in those 2 metrics this year are better than N Carolina's were last year when they were a bubble add to the tournament.

Yeah, I don't know if that is a talking point all these mid-majors use or what, but that seems odd.

Yeah that's just not true. That is a ploy to get them in the tournament from inside their camp. Plenty of top P4 schools played tough OOC opponents, none of them were scared of Miami (OH).

I hear you. Fortunately for them with the metrics the committee is using, they are in and probably won't even play in Dayton.

Among the P5 (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, and Big East), there were only 13 total true road games played against teams not in the P5.  Memphis hosted both Alabama and Mississippi State, Vandy visited WKU, Gonzaga hosted both Kentucky and Arizona State, San Diego State hosted Arizona State, Houston, and California, UNLV hosted Syracuse and Stanford, Washington visited Nevada, Minnesota went to North Texas, and Boston College went to Loyola Marymount.   (This is per Gemini)

If Miami (OH) is saying that they couldn't get a P5 school to schedule them at Miami, then that I'm inclined to believe.  Refused to schedule them anywhere? Yes, I am likewise skeptical of that. I believe some probably didn't want to play them because they thought they'd hurt their metrics (because they wouldn't be good enough, not that they feared a loss), but not all of them.

I still think they deserve to be in, and I believe the bracketologists agree. 94 of 100 bracketologists in the Bracket Matrix have Miami in.

Seems we are getting closer to a tournament of P5 teams and one for the non P5 teams. That's sad, but that's where we are heading.
